  1. They obviously don't realise we don't sell blocks 1-3 unless there is a big crowd and almost never open 1-2.
  2. Mike, Jaidi won everything in the air, had a decent game but towards the end was given some hospital balls by Fonte which he should have just booted but was caught trying to play a pass and closed down. Barnard worked his socks off but lacks a bit of pace, Brighton parked a bus in the first half especially. Deeply unimpressive and looking underneath the way they play I don't think they are going to stay at the top. Lambert was a bit better, won a few more headers and put himself about more but needs to up his game. Brighton were a bit like a golfer that finds himself with a cracking score at half way round then decides to play safe and keep the score but loses momentum and ends up with an ordinary score. They surprised me with their negative approach, one team spent 95 minutes trying to win, the other spent 95 minutes, with gamesmanship, spoiling tactics trying not to lose and maybe pinch a goal.
  3. Bialkowski, Richardson, Martin, Seabourne, Dickson, Holmes, Guly, Hammond, Lallana, Lambert, O-C. 4-4-2. Give Barnard and Chaplow week on the bench to rest injuries same with Jaidi but available if needed. I'd like to see O-C play Danny Wallace style up the middle off Lambert playing right up front not dropping off.
  4. As you said recently when forecasting the results of forthcoming games. 'Then what do I know'.
  5. We need a gutsy high tempo performance, I doubt that the players aren't now getting the message.
  6. We won't meet a quicker pair than Peterborough's McHail-Smith and McLean, Murray is a good player.
  7. £80m loan to be repaid in 10 years could be even more now.

Of course it is, bring in Hoddle!
  9. I would be gobsmacked if we didn't bring in at least one, but I'd be surprised if we didn't bring in more.
  10. The only fantastic thing about Davis is his shot stopping. Against Tranmere he threw out all the time which was observed by the Huddersfield scout sat next to us. At Huddersfield the outlets especially Fonte were closed down quickly but Davis still threw the ball out to put players in trouble. He shows no judgement about when to release the ball and often delays so long he has to kick long. In the following match he kicked long all the time and hardly threw at all. Now he is predominately kicking. He regularly causes problems with a stupid pass and in three games we only just managed to clear the ball, whilst against Notts County he damn near lost the ball when he was closed down by the striker and only managed to get the ball out of play, having been surprised and tried to dribble around the striker. His biggest problem is that he has no clear idea where he is going to pass to when he receives the ball, so he delays while he looks. Keepers that like playing short, already know where the ball is going almost before they get it and immediately release it. Furthermore our defenders are extremely wary and often are not looking for the ball as they know he wants to kick long. IMO I think that Adkins is going to bring in a keeper that is comfortable playing from the back and as soon as he can get one Davis will be relegated and probably on his way. Added to that he is probably the biggest reason we are conceding goals from crosses/corners on the edge of the six yd box because he is on the goal line and doesn't command his goal area.
  11. Also sounds like additional work, stand, security and groundsmans hut.
  12. Agreed, however as long as he is getting on with Cortese and we are moving forward in the way we play I can't see the manager being changed.
  13. Yes because he isn't comfortable playing out quickly to the nearest free outfield player, secondly because he is a bloody liability anchored to the goal line with corners etc hit into the six yd box. He might save a few shots but his all round game is poor and we need a decent keeper who can dominate the penalty area. Loads of teams have them but we haven't.
  14. We had a spell at the start of last season when we couldn't score from play. Then Waigo arrived followed by Antonio and we started scoring for fun. Waigo/Antonio became the plan A and if we needed to have a go at the end to rescue the game one of them became plan B. Apart from A-OC we are very static, Lallana is developing into a good player but does lack pace, however he is able to perform in spite of it, Hammond runs like he's just been snipped, Schneiderlin is immobile and just sits trying to give the responsibility to someone else showing a marked lack of effort, Chaplow gives all he's got. Barnard is the most mobile of the front men but again lacks pace, the midfield is terribly static so the lack of movement is making things difficult for Lambert who isn't particularly dynamic and lacks pace, but he is a smart striker at the moment lacking vital confidence. Provided there is no underlying political problem, if we are going to get the best out of Lambert again, it is vital to get in some movement and dynamism in central midfield, plus a couple of versatile quick wide players that can score goals and get to the byeline as per Waigo/Antonio and fill in as an alternative pacy striker if needed. These two are additions to the squad to provide alternatives and cover but the central midfield is vital. Adkins and Cortese want to play a fast pass and move game but our goalkeeper and two of the central midfielders aren't going to play that way, so will have to be replaced. I can't see Lambert getting the freedom to play the way he likes unless these changes are made.
  15. Yes, like every footballer he is only as valuable as his current form and if that isn't good and is tied in with a significant undertone of dissatisfaction, it is a cancer that needs to be excised PDQ.
  16. Aged 25, Wimbledon, Barnet, Plymouth, MK Dons, Saints and now Millwall. The perrennial tale of the journeyman footballer who has a talent but whose personality and fragility, together with the inability to take criticism and an ego that demands centre stage or the toys get chucked out of the pram. I don't see him as a star player but a cameo player with brief peaks but lots of falling out and changing clubs. In need of a Brian Clough father figure but then again probably wouldn't appreciate it.
  17. A goalkeeper chained to the goal line allows the ball to be put into the six yd area, If we had a keeper who dominated the area, the ball would have to be hit in further out.
  18. One of the problems Puncheon has, he is naturally left sided and whilst last season he went for the byeline, this season he is checking back. AO-C is naturally right sided and is getting to the byeline and scoring goals. Puncheon has no chance of getting back at the moment and if as has been said there has been a fall out, (I heard there was a bust up after his last substitution and subsequent dropping) it would not be a surprise if he, along with a few others, is used to bring in other players to alter the make up and quality of the team.

So Harding gets on the wrong side of Marshall when he was the last defender, Harding again last man, sticks out his right foot and completely miskicks, Schneiderlin loses his man in the six yd box, Three goals hardly Adkins fault. He then replaced both of them. I didn't like the 4-5-1/4-3-3 because the lone striker isn't performing or particularly mobile, The midfield three with the exception of Chaplow aren't mobile enough to help out Lambert, so I was surprised we didn't bring on another striker as soon as we went two goals down. If anything maybe Adkins is being unnecessarily loyal to a striker that isn't performing and more importantly isn't putting in the necessary effort. If Adkins is open to criticism, it is trying to play a lone striker who isn't up to the job at the present time. Eventually he will have a team of players capable of playing the way he wants, but at the moment he is having to adapt and live with a team that isn't capable of playing the way both he and Cortese want it to play. He still has to get results to keep us in the promotion hunt and up to Saturday we were the best performing team in the league over the last six games.
  21. Chief scout for Nigel Pearson at Leicester. Wilkins hasn't been a scout for anyone and as for knowing the championship in the last two years I don't think so, not if he was doing his job properly at Chelsea. Adkins knows the bottom leagues well and the last thing we need is an overpaid underachiever.
  22. I've just checked the calender/diary and this year Saturday 25th Dec is Christmas Day and Sunday 26th Dec is Boxing Day. The Monday and Tuesday following are just Bank Holidays in lieu of CD and BD being at the weekend.
  23. We don't need a chief scout whose current experience is top of the Premier and dealing with £20m internationals, what we do need is the likes of Gordon Watson with a handle on every decent player in the lower leagues.
  24. What we need is a chief scout who knows every decent player in the lower divisions not every £20m international player. Gordon Watson would be more like it.
  25. Gordon Watson would be a good chief scout, not many players at this level he hasn't checked out.
