Been a decent game that, really not sure how it ended up 0-0 after 90 mins.
-
Think that was the correct decision for offside there, VvD definitely interferes with the defender.
-
Got to think this is a decent chance for us, extra rest, in good form, at home, and West Ham may well still have one eye on the top four race.

Added to that the sanctions are hitting them now. Also most Russians don’t see Ukraine as an enemy. A lot of the fighting is between Russian people forced to be soldiers told to attack people they don’t see as an enemy, against people fighting for their home.
-
Putin’s put Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces on the highest level of alert. For everyone’s sake that needs to be a bluff, or everyone loses, including Putin. And now there will be peace talks on the Ukraine-Belarus border without the precondition that Ukraine lay down their weapons. That’s taking bad news/good news to an extreme. Ukraine might just have made it cost enough that even though Putin has the military strength to win, he doesn’t have the political capital to win a long guerrilla war, or perhaps more importantly, the peace afterwards.
-
Honestly, I don't know. I guess the threat of other banks being added to the same sanction would deter unbanned ones from aiding Putin, and they can actually be added if required.
-
Sounds like some Russian banks are about to be removed from SWIFT, and Russia's Central Bank, holding Putin's warchest, will have its assets frozen. That's going to have an effect.
-
Could go either way, it would be a huge hit to morale, but it could also turn him into a martyr, especially with the story of how he came to power in the first place, and the way he's stayed to fight when he could have fled. Hopefully we don't have to find out.

It's not like they turn the engine off if they have to stop and fight. If they're fuelled as far as they can go, and use up that fuel, and the supply line that's supposed to refuel them is stopped by the enemy, it's not like they could have done anything differently themselves. You could call it incompetence to underestimate the resistance they'd face and not secure their supply lines better I guess. Failing to secure the airports severely hampered them. They'll be a key target and it'll be far more difficult for Ukraine in areas where Russia manage to secure airports.
-
So it's tanks on the shortest route from the border to Kyiv that have been reported as running out of fuel then?
-
A quick Google tells me Russian tanks have a fuelled range of 150-250 miles, so fuel supply was always going to be needed. As far as I can tell, they went in expecting Kyiv to fall within 24-48 hours, and resistance to crumble after that. They weren't expecting a slog and it seems that they overextended, with attacks stretching further than supply lines could reach, and resistance successfully cutting off supply lines better than expected.
-
It's not the entire invasion being halted, just reports of a few units that have ended up isolated from expected fuel supplies, probably due to successful attacks on supply lines.
-
Russia were expecting to have control of airspace by now. Failing to secure that, so far, has cut off a huge proportion of the supplies they were expecting to be able to deliver to their forces. On top of that they've faced more resistance and been bogged down in more fighting than they were expecting. Russia still have superior forces, and are likely to be able to overwhelm Ukraine's defence eventually, but it seems to only be Putin that really wants this war. If Ukraine can keep holding out, they've got a chance of Putin being forced to give up one way or another.

Would have taken this weekend of results if you offered it to me beforehand

*West Ham goal Dawson scored against Leicester.
-
Indeed. I guess it's at least consistent with the Leicester goal scored with the 'shoulder'? Looked like a handball to me though.

Wow, extremely lucky to get away with that.

Hm, I think that actually should be a penalty. Ridiculous, I don't know what he was thinking.
-
What was that defending?

Burnley and Watford both managing to squeeze out a point today, I’d be surprised if Everton don’t drop into the relegation zone with the run of fixtures they’ve got. A lot will come down to how they react to that.
-
I had Burnley as relegation certs a few weeks ago, looking pretty unlikely now to me.

As I say that... Son and Kane breaking the record for combining for goals is mightily impressive, especially as it’s not at one of the clubs regularly competing for the title.
-
This should be about 5-3 this half alone. Shocking finishing on display.

Leeds right in it now, bad luck on top of leaking goals that badly...
