  1. We've done well to dig that one out! Imagine looking back on escaping this one if we go on to lift the cup...
  2. Where the crowd can come into play!?
  3. What a run! Shame we couldn't finish it off there.
  4. Long! Great attitude from the players here!
  5. Dammit! Wait! Gerrin!
  6. Oh... he had so much time and space!
  7. HD coverage working again on Sky on 952.
  8. Even if we win the FA Cup in my lifetime, and I'm there to see it, I think I'll always wonder what it was like to be there in 76. With it being our first major trophy, winning it the way we did, against such huge odds... a proper fairytale cup run, while in a lower division as well...
  9. Cool, mini feature on '76 on half-time coverage
  10. That's never the reason he's gone down, but Valery silly to give him the chance to do that.
  11. A few sloppy moments aside, that early goal has done us a world of good in terms of giving us control of the game.
  12. That might explain the Covid cases they had...
  13. Newcastle
  14. Unfortunately looks like it might not be on iPlayer, can pick it up on 976 on Freesat, 978 on Sky, or 684 on Virgin Media though. EDIT: Restark pointed out it looks like you can change your location on iPlayer to view.
  15. That was the Hotelgate match wasn’t it? That late goal was a proper limbs-flailing-everywhere-oh-right-I’m-only-in-my-living-room moment Reactions from both sets of players and the crowd at the end was a sight to see too.

    Coronavirus

Asymptomatic doesn't mean they haven't tested positive, just that they're just not showing any ill effects. Unfortunately with Covid, that doesn't mean they can't spread it.
  17. Unless he decides to kick up a VvD type stink over leaving (which I actually would be genuinely shocked by), with 4 1/2 years left on his contract I think that the price we'd be willing to sell at is a lot higher than what anyone would be willing to offer.

    Not really. https://www.who.int/ith/2016-ith-county-list.pdf
  19. Swapping one season of Ings for at least 2-3 seasons of Armstrong, at least 2 seasons of Livramento, and 1 season of Broja was one of the better deals we've done. If we're able to get Broja longer term with this takeover, that'd be an excellent start.
  20. "We're in a better position than yesterday" is probably as far as you're going to hear about any plans from any sensible new owner, regardless of actual plans, especially in a transfer window. We'll just have to wait and see. Takeover not being a leveraged buyout is excellent news, though.
  21. Officially confirmed. Southampton FC on Twitter: "A new era at #SaintsFC 😇 We can confirm that Sport Republic has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Southampton Football Club." / Twitter
  22. It'll be interesting to see what sort of owner we're getting. Could go either way, considering we're going from essentially a completely neutral owner who didn't put money in or take money out of the club. Right now I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll at least have a bit more clout in the transfer market and in keeping hold of players.

    Coronavirus

Those infections aren’t even higher. The aim for a long time has been to balance keeping life as normal as possible and avoiding putting too much pressure on the health service. With Omicron turning out to be milder, they’ve been able to push more towards fewer restrictions. Like I said yesterday, we’re not out of the woods yet with Omicron, we might well still end up needing further restrictions. In any case, I’m certainly not claiming it as a ‘win’. It’s literally a no win situation with no perfect answer. However, it does appear that the answer chosen might well be one where we don’t lose as much.

    Coronavirus

It’s almost like the minimal restrictions put in place and the booster campaign are working as intended so far.
