Four games in the Premier League for Saints - Pompey. Six for Nottingham Forest - Leicester, so it's not purely on the matches that have occurred in the Premier League (unless six is enough for one of the biggest derbies in the history of the league?).
-
Main difference for me is I can see it easily going down to goal difference now.
-
That's one of the best games I've watched in a long time. Be interesting to see how both teams approach the second leg now.
-
Could be a point that makes the difference in the end, but they also dropped two points compared to Forest. For the first time Forest actually have it in their own hands.
-
It's been like watching a match that's been scripted for a movie.
-
City have scored four against Real Madrid and will be extremely disappointed to have only scored that many.
-
Man City - Real Madrid has been an utterly outstanding game to watch
-
I'd imagine the managers will try to calm it down a bit at half time, but I still wouldn't be surprised if either team doesn't end up with 11 on the pitch at the end of the game.
-
Reminds me of our game against Swansea a few years back. (the hotelgate one) I'd predict 35 will be the mark, but it only takes one or two results to push it up past that.
-
Richarlison. Not because I'd particularly want him playing for Saints, just so we didn't have to play against him.
-
Leeds season could turn on this game. Win and it's close to a two horse race between Everton and Burnley for the last relegation spot. Lose or draw and their next three fixtures could well see them dragged into the fight.

That's like saying Ireland should hold a referendum now to avoid the threat of death and destruction due to the threat of British invasion. There's no excuse or justification for what Russia has done.

Both Sweden and Finland have agreed to apply to join NATO next month. Can’t imagine too many barriers will be put in their way.

Did the money come from Moshiri or Usmanov? On top of that they’ve got a new stadium to pay for, and apparently no relegation clauses in their player’s contracts either. Everton didn’t look too special against lower league opposition in the cup games earlier this season. It’s by no means certain Everton go down, but it now looks more likely than not they do, and if they do, I think they’ll be in significant danger of going more Sunderland/Pompey than Newcastle/Villa.
-
Burnley playing Villa with Gerrard managing twice might be, uh, interesting…
-
It was probably Everton’s best chance of getting something, but they needed everything to go for them, and it didn’t. As soon as they conceded they had no choice but to open up.

538 model does too https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/

Think that might have been red if Liverpool weren’t 2-0 up
-
Everton’s goal difference is starting to look a bit ominous now too
-
Thought that was heading in there!
-
Difficult for Everton to dig themselves out now..
-
As bad as it’d be for the rest of us, imagine being an Everton fan if Liverpool do the quadruple and Everton go down after hiring Benitez… That said, even if Liverpool win here today, I still think the league is a long shot for them. I reckon City dropping more points than Liverpool is unlikely.

So, 2-6-2-0-0 formation for Everton by the look of it?
-
So, Ben Mee football genius? I’ll hold my hands up and admit I thought Burnley were making a huge mistake getting rid of Dyche, but it certainly seems to have given them a better chance than I thought they had.

Well, decent point in the end having been 2-0 down and yet another entry for the JWP Free Kick Gallery. Hope Livramento’s injury isn’t too serious.
