  1. But they were able to copy across customer details and season ticket details so - in theory - there's no reason why they couldn't do the same with match tickets.
  2. It's the sort of system that should have been put in place years ago, really. It'll be interesting to see what happens next season, do points from this season carry forward so those who go to most games this season get first dibs early next season, or do they go for the nuclear option of resetting everyone to zero again?
  3. Darren Purse. No big deal that we missed out there From memory, while Spurs came in with a joint bid for the two, we were only ever interested in Reid and had a £4m bid accepted. However, he told us in no uncertain terms that he wasn't interested, mainly due to our rather one-dimensional approach in our relegation season where everything was launched to Crouch in the hope that someone would do something with the knockdowns.
  4. And it does, hence the initial requirement for 45 loyalty points in the first sales period (dodgy online system allowing non-eligible people to buy notwithstanding). If non-ST holders end up buying match tickets for the vast majority of home games as well as attending a number of away games, they'll have deservedly moved up the ladder in terms of eligibility for the most popular away games, IMO. As you rightly say, it's unfortunate that perhaps THE most anticipated away game this season has come so early in the season meaning you only had to buy a ticket for three games (one if you're a ST holder) in order to guarantee an Arsenal ticket. If this game had been in March, with 10+ away games already behind us, there would be absolutely no argument over who is more deserving of a ticket. Personally, I'd have liked all of last season's ticket sales to have counted towards a loyalty system this season (gradually losing their weighting over the course of the season as this season's sales take greater importance), but appreciate that would have been a fairly substantial task to administer, especially with the changeover in ticket system.
  5. Nope, no way of the club tracking purchases because all sales were done through Stevenage's ticket office.
  6. The best bit is they've put that internal wall up so you can no longer see how many of the ticket office staff are just sat around in the office doing nothing
  7. Some of those arguments are absolute nonsense. Yes, the whole system has been a shambles, but simply "having a season ticket" has NEVER been a guarantee of obtaining an away ticket. Simple mathematics shows that. 22k-ish season ticket holders, 3k Arsenal tickets available. Shock horror, some season ticket holders don't get a ticket.
  8. Perhaps I misread, but the way I interpreted it was that it wasn't actually a queue but a complete lucky dip as to which "position" you obtained. I've only used the new online system once so far, and that was to renew my season ticket, so I've not had the dubious pleasure of experiencing their queueing system, but for me the process should be like this: 1. Before the sale time, no "buy" button exists. Users can F5 as much as they like, but the button won't appear until 9am (or whenever they set the tickets to be available). 2. As soon as the sale time arrives, the "buy" button appears, and as soon as users click that button, they're put in a queue in order of when they clicked that button - likely to be microseconds between them, but if you're operating a first-come, first-served system, that's the way it's got to be. Judging by reports on here, there's been no real prioritisation for those who got there first. For what it's worth, the current system is easily hackable by anyone who knows what they're doing. For example, I can log in and order a ticket for the Villa home game despite it not being listed on the "Match Tickets" page.
  9. That's insane No wonder Pompey got rid of the exact same ticket system within 2 months of installing it. Absolute shambles
  10. Well that went well, it seems...
  11.
  12. Yep. The idea of a splash screen like that is that it appears the first time you visit the site and then doesn't reappear on subsequent visits. Clearly it's not working like that at the moment
  13. Agreed, although we've no way of knowing whether local Man United fans bought blocks of tickets among a group of friends in those areas on the twinned ticket. It seems as if anything's possible with our ticket office and online system
  14. I did my usual bet of trebles from four games, all draws: Blackburn v Leicester FAIL Charlton v Hull WIN Bournemouth v Preston WIN Chesterfield v Rotherham WIN £8 (4 x £2 trebles) won me £86.13
  15. Unfortunately these days clubs are allowed to announce the official attendance based on number of tickets sold rather than turnstile clicks. I had a look through all the blocks on the online ticket system on Friday morning and there were around 15 tickets available in total in blocks 1-5, and every single one of them was an individual ticket, i.e. you couldn't get 2 seats together in blocks 1-5. Yet when it comes to the game, there are hundreds of empty seats, especially lower down in the stand. Either the online ticket system doesn't actually reflect reality (in which case the ticket office need to get their arses in gear), or hundreds of people with tickets (either season tickets or matchday ones) didn't turn up to the game, for whatever reason.
  16. Yes, we should definitely drop one of our only players capable of keeping possession
  17. I hope there are 2001 tickets left
  18. Highly unlikely. He had his medical for Chelsea today.
  19. BlueStar are still offering the discounted Day Rider tickets with season and match tickets. No idea whether First are doing likewise.
  20. That's because nobody's shouting about it until they've got the ticket in their hand...
  21. Technically SFC only signed a contract with Football League Interactive, who in turn subcontracted the actual site development to SapientNitro (and Perform before them). The clubs have no say at all in which company gets the contract, sadly.
  22. No, they've only received half of this year's parachute payment. It's paid in two instalments, the other one in January I think.
  23. Is that a euphamism?
  24. No, I was merely posing a question as to why they might enter discussions with such a character
