  1. It still took me two hours to get to Greenwich from Croydon via a frustrating combination of tram, train and bus
  2. Seems reasonable enough, but if you're quick tomorrow morning, you could get this one from Richer Sounds for only £50 more. Alternatively, also for £50 more, you could get this 40" model.
  3. Should be fixed
  4. Almost certainly not, which is why it intrigues me that the union has agreed to it.
  5. Mine too
  6. According to a mate of mine, "newest FM2011 update makes it impossible to load a saved game". Joy. Note to self, only update to the penultimate patch when ordered copy of the game arrives...
  7. His Twitter account's had quite a lot of exposure in the last few weeks after he tweeted asking people how to use his toaster
  8. Not sure about that, as the teamsheet has to be handed to the opposing captain BEFORE the toss. I reckon Smith will play predominantly as a batsman but will be expected to bowl a bit, and they'll go with 4 frontline seamers plus Watson. Watson Hughes Ponting Clarke Hussey Haddin Smith Johnson Harris Siddle Hilfenhaus
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression you couldn't have a bank holiday on a Sunday?
  10. No "could" about it, they "would" be safe if we win the third test, as the best the Aussies could then manage would be a drawn series, which would see us retain the Ashes anyway.
  11. Looks quite likely to be genuine, but then again both his and Leon Legge's profile descriptions are identical... summary: no idea Oh, and he follows the Echo feed... that'll go down well
  12. The Barmy Army's new song for the third test, to the tune of Oasis' Don't look back in anger:
  13. I think I need a lay down. I agree with you.
  14. Which is rather odd considering Newsquest made a profit of somewhere in the region of £80m last year. Tough times indeed.
  15. Which articles were they?
  16. Your obsession with the Echo is rather weird.
  17. In League One, yes, but not in the Premier League or Championship. That's another reason why the rules on "safety" are so ridiculous - apparently it's unsafe for the handful of people who turn up at the DW Stadium to watch a Premier League game to stand, and yet 2000 people packed onto a terrace at Peterborough in League One is perfectly acceptable. Either it's safe or it isn't, and if it isn't, there should be a blanket ban at all levels.
  18. Attached to this post is a template letter to send to your MP. Within the letter are a number of placeholders, denoted by square brackets. Simply delete/replace as applicable and send to your MP. You can find out who your MP is at http://www.writetothem.com - however, I would recommend not contacting the MP through this site, but going to their own website and contacting them through that. Most have their own site with postal and email addresses publicly visible. Template Standing Letter.doc
  19. It's difficult to have much sympathy with the likes of Anson who put his name to the letter to the ExCo members after the Panorama broadcast when they cry foul after the event when the rest of us knew exactly what was going to happen and what has been going on for years. Proper investigative journalism, such as that used by Andrew Jennings in the Panorama programme, is a dying art around the world for fear of offending people. Without that fear, a chance to expose the likes of Jack Warner still exists, so fair play to Jennings for his determination and persistence. I am quite surprised he's the only journalist banned from FIFA HQ though
  20. Not 100% sure, some of the stadia in Germany are really steep (Dortmund, for example) while others are the complete opposite (Stuttgart).
  21. You forget that Spain/Portugal were heavily involved in Qatar getting the 2022 tournament. What they didn't reckon on was Russia being better, quicker and more covert at getting vote promises for 2018.
  22. They were up in arms when he was first appointed, "this job's too big for a rookie", etc.
  23. They've done better than expected in Europe (although take a look at the Bundesliga and Serie A tables to see that neither Inter or Bremen have been anywhere near their best this season), but haven't been anything special in the league so far, IMO. Pretty average away from home, the second half against Arsenal aside. If Redknapp got the England job, I'd emigrate. Fortunately, it won't ever come to that as they won't give him the job in a month of Sundays. An England manager who's popular with the press? It just wouldn't work, which would mean the press might turn against him and do a little bit of digging...
  24. I don't think Cross Country accept Group Saver tickets... have you tried looking at going via London?
