Interestingly, Portsmouth City Football Club Limited's accounts for the year ended 30th June 2007 (before Gaydamak decided he'd finished with this particular washing machine) show net liabilities of £30m, and total debts of £68.9m, of which £66.8m were debts falling due within one year. Suggesting that the near-silent atmosphere at Anfield last night was something out of the ordinary. Anyone who's been to a league game there that wasn't against either Everton or Man United will be able to confirm that silence is actually the norm. Also, their refusal to pin the blame for last night's performance on Messrs Torres and Gerrard who were both utterly anonymous.
