  1. Ok, so a few people clearly were ITK and made a few quid. Anyone from here !??
  2. As I said on another thread he rattled Arsene Wenger's cage more than once so he'll definitely do for me !!
  3. Yes, I lol'd as well !!
  4. The odds posted on Wednesday had him at 25/1. Without checking back further I'm not sure when he 1st appeared in the betting but I suspect it will be on one of these many posts!
  5. Pardew has joined SFC FYI
  6. Which is probably nobody TBH !!
  7. Skybet might give you 1/100,000 if they are feeling generous. They can afford it
  8. Blimey, I was about to check the OS site, in truth was expecting it to be on there sometime next week! Seems that is working like clockwork too now
  9. We can dream lol
  10. I hope he keeps Svennson and Niemi might be able to rekindle BB's confidence, for sure he would be a good and popular choice. He has retired of course, any one know what he is doing now?
  11. Yep, just what I said !
  12. Realistically who did you expect ? We are in League One so we are not likely to get Fabio Capello or Jose Mourinho !!
  13. Finally sorted and NOT Tony Adams ! I am more than happy with someone of his experience. He has a pretty good record and has experience at this level. Took Reading to the League 2 place offs in 2001 after they had been struggling under Terry Bullivant and then took them into League 1 the following season where they finished in the play offs in their first season. Despite not being the type of charismatic manager West Ham fans tend to want he still took them to promotion from the CCC as well. He did well in the PL to begin with but one bad run and he was sacked. When he took over at Charlton they were already in serious decline and he never really got to terms with turning things around though I think many would have found managing Charlton at that point a thankless task as I don't consider them as anything other than an an average CCC team at best. Some might think he is a bit abrasive though anyone who gets under the skin of Arsene Whinger is fine by me! So I am certainly not unhappy with him as our manager. Apart from WGS who else was there realistically who could be considered a better option ?
  14. LOL As I thought our new manager was not even listed in the original betting on Skybet. They'll be very happy !!

    MBE

We had a similar discussion a while back about Micky Channon who given his success as a race horse trainer as well would be even more worthy of an MBE or higher. The concensus of opinion was that he would surely have been asked but must have turned it down though why is the question. Quite possibly too modest to accept it ? In fact I even started a FB group for him to be given a knighthood !! http://www.facebook.com/chrisobee?ref=profile#/group.php?gid=47155005228&ref=ts Though in the interests of given credit where due as posted on that page: "In fairness the idea came from Durleyfos on TSF as below! Since he did not know how to set up a group and I did I nicked his excellent idea Originally Posted by Durleyfos That's given me an idea for a Facebook group - 'Get Mick Channon Knighted' If I knew how to start one... Actually it would have been Tony Gubba who is so legendary you are not even sure of his name I do remember the MOTD you refer to but could not have said who presented it.
  17. Just to confuse I suspect, I'm not sure where I am now :smt102
  18. Yes, I have heard pretty much the same things about him. Time for a reality check I think and remember we are a League 1 team after all.
  19. To be honest I can't be bothered to read the comments as Charlton Pathetic fans are some of the most moronic I have come across. Pardew has a pretty good record and has experience at this level. Took Reading to the League 2 place offs in 2001 after they had been struggling under Terry Bullivant and then took them into League 1 the following season where they finished in the play offs in their first season. 20. LOL Of course, just a bit of friendly banter ! Well if anyone can get back into contention it is Woods but I did think he was really not any value though Golf is a sport I only follow in the Major events. I backed Mahan at the US PGA so decided to have a few quid on him again though really just as a bit of added interest. (£2.50 ew at 33/1 !!)
  21. I cannot believe you said that
  22. Well if we were in a position to pick any manager we wanted then clearly he would not be in the top 10. However, since I believe Fabio Capello is committed to England, SAF to Man U etc, Pardew would be fine by me. Decent manager and no one's fool. I'd be lying if I didn't say WGS would be my 1st choice but behind him there are not many realistic options, Pardew is one of those avaliable and he'd get my support.
  23. They clearly don't read this site either ! :smt102
  24. Well I have lost track to some extent but at least 3 people have now been odds on ! WGS- short as 1/5 Adams 8/11 I think was the shortest price. Now of course Pardew. In other words it could still yet be anyone!
  25. You found them Ok then
