  5. RIP Seve. A great golfer and an inspiration to me and my mates when we were learning the game when we were nippers. Always had time to smile and chat; the European game wouldn't be where it is now without him. Absolute legend.
  6. Voorhees
  7. Sting
  8. Thought long and hard about this but settled on Fonte. He has been an absolute rock in defence this year and is playing way above the level needed for this league. Lallana was a close second and Barnard was a contender too for absolute commitment to the cause and also for showing no respect whatsoever for kicking Scholes up in the air in the cup game!!!
  9. Try Coma by Alex Garland; short little novella with illustrations by his Dad. It'll only take a few hours.... Just re-reading Treasure Island. Haven't read it since I was at school. Cracking good yarn with parallels to Lord Of The Flies I think. Anyway, you all know the story and I'm just reading it to pass the time.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13193968 Germ Free Adolescent no more. Remember seeing X Ray Spex must be nearly 30 years ago, top night out.
  11. At the end of all this, Connelly needs his contract renewing. For the time he was on the pitch he was outstanding.

  22. Saints v Newcastle in 1995 (?) We were 0-1 down with about 87 minutes gone when Neil Heaney came on. Turned the game around and we ended up winning 3-1. Of course, all the people that only had tickets for 85 minutes had gone and missed the best bit....
  23. What do you call lady that pushes her way to the front of the Post Office queue? Jocelyn.
  24. Let Me In Just watched this on Box Office and was preparing myself to rubbish it mercilessly for having the audacity to try and emulate the quite brilliant Let The Right One In. I can't though, it turned out to be one of those rare gems, a worthy Hollywood remake. There were enough subtle differences between the two films to make Let Me In well worth watching. Good though it was there were some things that still didn't let it measure up to the Swedish version; there are less characters in Let Me In that demands the 2 central characters, Abby (Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick Ass)) and Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road)) have more depth. Good though they were they just didn't have that chemistry that there was between Oscar and Eli. Also, the soundtrack wasn't quite as emotive as Let The Right One In. But, if you haven't seen the Swedish masterpiece; see this, you won't be disappointed. 9/10
