Yes any loan fee is straight income but we do have to charge a quarter of the fee we paid Arsenal to the accounts this year so the loan fee needs to be at least that for us to break even for this season.

Finding myself agreeing with Turkish on this. Game was pretty good although the extra time really tailed off in terms of quality and energy. The penalty shootout was (mostly) embarrassing though. Several of the England attempts were too predictable and frankly not good enough. Some of the Swedish penalties were top class . But at least two of them, including the goalie jus lost their cool.

I enjoyed the game, France were deserved winners but i thought England stuck to the task and got some reward/encouragement at the end. I also watched a fair amount of the Wales Netherlands game and I think the Dutch would need to play significantly better to beat an England team even playing at tonight's level. As for the Welsh I'm sure they'll be up for giving their big(head) neighbours a game but I think they're main challenge will be to avoid conceding double figures in their next match.

Think La Liga 2 is on average worse than Championship but still a good move as he needs to play more regularly than he's likely to staying at Saints.

Many thanks for your sterling work -
He certainly looked sharper (and faster) yesterday. Loads of promise for next season, if he stays fit

Ours arrived on Friday

Whitey, I hesitate to argue with someone with reffing credentials but having looked again at the highlights I still believe: 1 Stephens didn't 'go flying in' but made a very necessary challenge as without it McGinn was through in the penalty area. 2 I still think he gets the ball first (and before McGinn) before catching him. As I said I can see why it wasn't overturned and obviously a high risk challenge but a necessary one. His positioning for the second goal however .................

Actually I thought Stephens does get the ball first, although he obviously catches the man on the follow through. Can definitely see why VAR wouldn't overturn but not a 'clumsy and stupid' tackle

Our fans: loyal and positive, or noddy and soft?

I've also not been to quite as many away games as Frannies Tache and he has every right to his point of view but I thought the Championship Again and Going to Coventry songs were great examples of ironic chanting which cheered me up, and from what I overheard impressed at least a few of the home fans. I'll also admit to applauding the team at the end as a sign of support for the players who I think in the main have tried their best, even though of course it's been nowhere near good enough. One other point we need the players to be fully committed and keen for our remaining games. Hopefully our (new) coaching team will make a difference. Some may think giving the players abuse is the way to motivate them but I believe an arm around the shoulder and some encouragement is a better approach. -
Well 2 nil nil draws will do us.

Not sure I understand the criticism of the subs. Les, Manning and TP were obviously injuries/knocks. Even Downes (on a yellow card) was not moving well before he came off. Dibling for Sulemana should have been ok, but I would agree he was very disappointing

Sorry to put a damper on your excitement/expectation re the lowest top goal scorer record but that I'm pretty sure is 4 ,held by Kenny miller for Derby C in their record breaking 07/08 season. We can still beat it of course but given Tall Paul's effort yesterday I think we may end up with tying the record at best. ๐๐๐๐

We can't be relegated by Palace (game 30) but Spurs could relegate us. Lucky me I've got tickets so I can say 'I was there' when we break the record ๐
