  1. If he says "We've got to keep a clean sheet" again I'm going to rip my own testicles off. It'd be his but I can't reach from here. How about "We need a second goal", Dave? Your idea doesn't seem to be working out too well.
  2. I'd say you have a dominant right hand, caused by excessive strength. This could result from any one of a variety of lifetime habits.

Thanks. So AP kept Lallana out there. My view was obstructed by about 2500 miles of land and another 2000 miles of ocean, so I should have kept my mouth shut. Hopefully, Murty's okay and the impact won't be as severe.

What a bloody disastrous moment that may prove to be. It's not just that we lose Murty, which is bad enough, but that his departure will impact negatively on the development of two potentially key players - James (just moved to a more suitable position where, by all accounts, he was starting to find his feet) and possibly even Lallana (who seemed to have found his niche with Murty behind him and James alongside him). Just as AP starts to fit round pegs into round holes, this happens. Of course, not having been at the game I may well be talking out of my arse, but that's how it sounds to me.

I wouldn't rule that out yet, sadly. From what I've seen and read he's absolutely one of the last ones we'd want to lose.

Yep, that was the guy who said "It's good news - he's being seen by a surgeon". That's the first time being seen by a surgeon is "good news". This was the same guy who said "At best it's knee ligaments, at worst it's (lengthy pause for thought) ... something worse". I fricking despair.
  7. Is that better than a Pole dancer?
  8. No kidding. It all sounds very premeditated and prearranged to me, which means that the normally reliable police sources let them down. Milwall have been utter sh*t for years but you know the Football League - let your fans run riot and we'll look the other way but get your finances wrong and we'll crucify you.
  9. You should. It's a classic.
  10. Surely you haven't forgotten: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16147 There could be argy-bargy - golf clubs at ten paces - between St Will and Kadeem.
  11. Any mention of trouble in block 35, row FF, somewhere near seat 928?
  12. What's wrong with saving our (ML's) money for later? Loans are great, low-risk solutions in wall-to-wall problem situations. If the loans do the trick, the cheque book will come out in January. Sounds like a smart plan to me.
  13. If he is, it's a free agent signing rather than a loan, isn't it?
  14. Isn't that where we came in? So, after this protracted and extremely entertaining circumnavigation, we are now destined to disappear back up our own arses.
  15. That bad, eh?
  16. But football consumes a lot of real estate considering how infrequently the stadia are used! Perhaps we could build social housing just inside the touchlines at SMS, 'cos those bits are NEVER used.
  17. Oh, boll*cks. Fits right in with the rest of the thread. Might even give it a second (even more tasteless) wind. If this thread doesn't make it to Golden Posts I'm withdrawing my membership.
  18. Last year we heard on the news that ambulances were heading to Edmonton airport to meet a plane flying back from Mexico. Most of the passengers had been stricken in mid-flight by what was so quaintly described as "explosive diarrhea". This thread is what the inside of that plane must have looked like.
  19. Oh, sh*t. Here we go.
  20. I am entering this discussion simply to say it may well be the (inadvertently) funniest thread I've ever read on here. It has everything - golf, politics, religion, social housing, dress sense, homophobia, and even a whiff of pedophilia (not sure how that got in there). It was good before Kadeem reached the inexplicable decision to confess guilt, but even better after.
  21. I may well regret asking this , but why do you refer to her as "equestrian"?
  22. It's a bigger handicap down here because it's the best stadium most of our opponents have played in, and I'm sure they lift their game as a result.
  23. While I think these are early days and that things will turn out okay, here's the magnitude of the challenge: It took 49 points to stay up in this division last year, so we still need at least 57 points from the remaining 42 games - an average of 1.36 points per game. It took 76 points to make the play-offs - 84 more than we have, so we'd need at least 2.00 ppg to get there. We don't have long to get our sh*t together.
  24. Thanks for your perspectives nickh and Marco. I suspect we're going to be like the stock market - a U-shaped bottom rather than a V-shaped bottom! As you said, Marco, "that does not change over night".
  25. Thanks, Dave. That's good enough for me - but disappointing to read. For the life of me I don't understand why these managers don't see the value and importance of width. Even going back to Strachan we were far too quick to sacrifice our width. Every time we played Fabrice Fernandes on the right and watched him cut inside and get lost I wanted to punch myself in the nuts. Any good signs? Have we made good signings? Is this going to come good in the end?
