The thought crossed my mind too. But I don't know.
-
Well it's not something we should really pursue on here, but basically 'scooby' sees his posts as amusing performance art.
-
But funniest of all is that the one genuine thing about him is that he's wild about scooby-doo!
-
More like I think it's against forum rules. However, now I understand exactly what scooby is and where he's coming from. It is all an elaborate joke.
-
Here you go, trousers. EDIT: I'm going to take that link out, because I'd posted it as a joke but it turns out it really is him!

Sundance, I really do worry about you - seriously. I think there's a world of difference between the cut and thrust of heated arguments on here, and the kinds of things you've been saying recently. The remarks about WT's wife, comparing mods with Nazis, and now the Bobby Sands 'dirty protest' reference, make me wonder whether there's something else going on that's tipped you over a cliff. I hope not. Your rage, for want of a better word, at fans who don't attend the games is inexplicable. Aside from a very few who are actively boycotting the club - as is their perfect right - as many of 10,000, it seems, have simply gone missing. As the Americans say, 'Why sweat the small stuff?' Those who boycott make up a tiny percentage, and really aren't the heart of the problem. The challenge for the club is how to get people back into SMS - not to alienate them with baseless charges that they are willfully and selfishly ruining the club. You should understand that hammering on this theme is likely to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's going to be a test of Lowe's and others' entrepreneurial skill and imagination to bring supporters back - assuming, heaven forbid, the club does not slide into relegation or worse.

nick, you comprehensively missed the point I was making. Oh well...onwards and downwards.

Nick, regardless of the accuracy of derry's assertion about McGoldrick, it's hardly surprising that these stories get around, is it? It's in the nature of regime... I'm not especially anti-Lowe myself (I'd say Wilde is worse), because I think that our current state is the consequence of a uniquely awful war that has raged through the rogue's gallery of a boardroom for the last two years, and has turned the club into the the football equivalent of a junkie - having to sell more and more, and more quickly, just to feed the habit of a gargantuan and ballooning debt. The credence to derry's story comes from the kind of logic that Lowe himself has applied - and you see it in other dealings too, with what I can only is a 'buy-low, sell-high' policy with players like Holmes and Schneiderlin, which seems to take precedence over the signing of, say, some decent fullbacks. Both players are turning into quality signings, so the gamble may pay off - at least in terms of revenue raising, as opposed to team-building. (And I just can't believe such a clever and talented player as Schneiderlin won't attract Prem interest - soon enough to take him out of Southampton by the season's end) McGoldrick, I'd suggest, was once being spun by Lowe as KJ mark 2. If he could show half a season's promise, goes the logic, there's a multi-million pound reward...However, reality must be dawning on JP, and even Lowe, that McGoldrick may not be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow after all. And so they've turned to cheap, quick fixes to lead the line. (Again, which I really hope pay off) I don't KNOW if this is true, (I don't have your apparent contacts with the club) but it does make sense - and it does reconcile your view and derry's. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I do expect to see Lallana leaving in January, though, to feed our 'habit', much as that would be extremely awful for our prospects in the CCC.

You inhaled! Let me guess: you typed this lying down with the computer stuck with chewing gum to the underside of a desk.
-
Hopefully many. Then we'll be top of the league in a couple of weeks.
-
That's bound to cost you three Hail Marys. Worth it though.
-
Lovely profile on there too.
-
Exactly. The problem we've had with such wonders as HMR, LLS and tommac is not that they blabbed on here about their incredible (!) takeover plans - but that they were leveraged-buy-out fantasists/wind-ups, or thought they saw a quick buck in a buy-low, sell-high tactic. (How damned to hell must we be to have attracted those three specimens in a single season?!) If a serious buyer wants to brag about buying the club for £50m, and actually has that sort of cash handy, bring it on! Fulthorpe is not it, imo. Still, we'll all know by Wednesday...won't we?
-
If you were serious about takeovers you wouldn't talk about that.
-
I object to you making me laugh when I'm supposed to be fed up.

Unfortunately I was in a public place when I read: 'It appears I am very right but at the same time very wrong...' (Giggling to oneself tends to cause worried stares.) But that really must qualify for an award of some kind. If he can't agree even with himself, what hope has the poor thing got? But just to prove how detached he is from any kind of understanding of the norms of debate, we get the Nazi comparison. And he's being serious! I'm sorry, Sundance, but you should take a good look at yourself, because that's not only tasteless; it's by definition very, very ignorant. You really think whatever the Mods are doing that so clearly offends you is on a par with the gassing six million Jews?! And by the way, I know you can't (!) pay your £5 for whatever reason and so can't send PMs, so why not try emails to wage this private war - or do you not have an email account either?
-
I'd vote No, fwiw. For the most part, Sundance causes the kind of 'truble' [sic] that can easily be ignored. (Or not: the poor chap is so unrelentingly humourless during his often incoherent rants that he's just too tempting a target.) Seems to me that this is latest little missive is what passes for an attempt to manipulate the way the forum is run - but it's a spectacular misfire, with all it's vague accusations and odd perorations about the wonders of Hilton (had to be a big-myself-up, posh hotel chain, didn't it!). I get the impression he desperately wants to be Alastair Campbell - but instead he comes off as a poor man's Victor Meldrew. His post is a sort of masterclass for the terminally cantankerous. Very funny. More please.
-
Damn it, Phil, I know you've been peeking.
-
So this is aimed at Merrington then?
-
So Fulthorpe is the dreamer, yes? Can't quite work out what your nudge and a wink mean.
-
But what about Long Shot and Diggers? We've been hanging on their every word. This is crushing news. Are you saying Fulthorpe is not 'serious'?
-
Good pilot for a 'pimp my club' series?
-
Highly ambiguous, non-denial denial.
-
I'm hurt! diggers was complaining about people correcting his punctuation, not his spelling. Here I am, doing my best to be helpful and all I get is sarcasm. I am never going to post on the subject again. Ever. And Snowballs, for Heaven's sake put spaces after your commas, dammit!
-
I hate to see an unhappy bunny. You have it. diggers will thank you.
