Well, I'm in the US right now, witnessing first-hand the implosion of American capitalism. If Fulthorpe's 'consortium' really does consist of US, Canadian and German funders, I'd be pretty amazed, quite frankly, at the suggestion that the money, if it ever was, is sitting quietly in a bank account, just waiting for Lowe to sign off. It's hard enough to borrow money for an ice cream over here right now - let alone an English football club with all the 'basket-case' economics that go with it. I'd love to be wrong... And ITKs are hardly ever right. It's called 'Tommac's Law'.

Long Shot, we are football fans, not members of a messianic cult. Don't hector us with pompous, self-regarding guff about what you find 'acceptable' or 'borderline'.

So we've got 'fans', 'supporters' and 'followers' in descending order of importance to the human race. Seems a bit like a club that's getting increasingly difficult to join. I do also wonder whether the year-on-year decline in attendance is evidence of something more long-term than the credit crunch, as Mike suggests, and that the club is slowly losing its roots among its 'customers'. Clubs like Norwich have a much more captive audience - there is nothing else remotely interesting going on there (trust me, I know). The decline is going to need an imaginative response - and I think it'll take more than on-field success to claim back at least another 10,000 on the gate each week.

Tommac was 'genuine', '100% sure of it", and we were jeopardising a takeover that was days away from happening. We were bad posters. One thing's for certain about Long Shot though: he's not Marc Jackson, because he hasn't mastered the ability to torture us and the English language at the same time.
