But feel-bad has always been more fun, especially on here. Twelve months on from the promotion-pushing Saintsforum and its summer of takeover madness, Saintsweb seems to have lost much of that mojo. Re-signing over-age players hasn’t solved the problem. Alpine saint has not recovered from his cruciate spelling injury, and delldays is pulling out of too many tackles. Sundance can’t decide on a personality, and the virtual Richard Chorley is rumoured no longer to exist. Our own-goal specialists tommac, St D and LLS have been banished to the industrial estates whence they came, and their replacement, Tiger, is nowhere near annoying enough. Result of our over-reliance on youth: threads on the main board play on far past the full 90 mins and life is more optimistic although no more polite necessarily. It's just a little bit dull.

I've been in that hole (the one in the ground) while it was being built. The contractors were Spanish and had the most enormous accident while I was there. Apparently it happened about once a week. So my guess is when they hit the red button, the worst you're going to get is a small 'pfffuttt' sound, followed by a low gargle. Or that could be the last thing you ever hear.....

I don't understand Digger's question. There IS a bid? (which appears to be denied in Wilde's little epic). The bid, or the offer of one, is being blocked? And by whom? This shell company is otherwise actually ready to take over?

I thought it was weird how it had exactly the same sorts of cadences as a Gordon Brown autocue speech. I'd put money on its have being written by a consultant/speechwriter.

I'm afraid this, in turn, is contradicted by an explicit statement by Jim Hone that 'intermediaries' purporting to represent PA had contacted the club, but that when the board investigated these people's actual links with PA, there was no evidence whatsoever that they existed. tommac bigged himself up on here by claiming he was one of those intermediaries, and claimed to have PA's personal phone number. Make of that what you will.
