Tomorrows game is intriguing. A win is essential, tensions will be high and Jones has really set himself up for one "final" chance with all his comments. Now is his time to step up and do it his way with no compromises, no excuses, if indeed he was holding back for some reason before. If he fails, he's finished and utterly humiliated. If we win, then maybe he can indeed start to turn it around?

Leeds experiencing the "no manager bounce"
-
Ah yes the letter from his mum. What a time to be alive !
-
So no fines, relegations or deductions. They are just going to get some angry welsh bloke to shout at them really loudly. Could be NJ's next job, maybe he'll be head-hunted.

There are so many conflicting sources of truth. Most of it appears to be BS. The one fact remains, he's still in charge. He took training this morning. To me it seems he's staying put.
-
I thought that the moment the club released that training video of what he was saying on the mic. Such a bad move by the club and made him sound like a PE teacher right from the off.

It hasn't been that long since the last game. I would be surprised if anything is announced until at least Monday. But if we get to Monday lunchtime, yes, I'd agree with you.

Orsic hasn't looked great since he arrived. But he's barely been given a chance to adapt and improve. For the first few weeks he was benched, so for whatever reason it seems Jones just doesn't like him. All our new players seem to get benched whilst we persist with Adams, Edozie and Mo game after game. Edozie has potential, but I expected to see him dropped for some proven experience/quality in Orsic almost immediately. It hasn't happened for some reason.

""I've compromised my principles because of personnel and the way people want to play. Sounds like Jones is trying to say he wasn't on board with the new signings and is being forced to put them in? Not sure.
-
Can see this being called off. Why is Jones still here is the only question worth considering. Unless he's gone by then.

I know the feeling. We've been so poor for so long. We've broken every crapness record there is. We are a laughing stock. But whilst we may go down, we might come back up. No reason to think we'd stay down. And along the way, hopefully jetison some of the crap and set some new positive records and try again! Things will change. Hang in there.

When they finally ditched Ralph I thought the season could be saved. A new manager would be brought in and had a fairly easy run of results to start with, playing teams in and around us at the time. Never imagined they'd appoint Jones, which was immediately a joke - followed by the infamous mic'd up training session - and that it could go quite so wrong. What were they thinking?
-
Time to get rid. Instill a caretaker till end of the season, then get a new man in over the summer and rebuild in the Championship. Jones remaining here is toxic and is only going to do more damage.
-
Can't really judge him based on coming off the bench with us 2-0 down and basically no tactical plan for the game. Any player would struggle in our team.
-
Don't kid yourself. This seasons over.
-
Has to go after today.
-
We were poor under Ralph. Somehow we are even worse under Jones. Despite new signings. Time to go.
-
You would think Jones will go if it stays like this. Time to admit the mistake
-
Granted new signings need time to bed in. But given our position I don't think we can afford them that time. We need quality out on the field right away not the same poor players again and again.
-
Win games and NJ will be ok and we'll stay up. Continue to lose and NJ will not be ok and we'll go down. So, if we lose the Brentford is that his time up then? Or do we keep waiting till the next league defeat? I actually hope we beat Brentford... even if it means he stays. Just want us to stay up.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg

If only Jones would say that in his post-match interview. -
I think Ralph had to go. But I also think if he had remained, we'd be better off under him now. We didn't need to keep Ralph, but we needed to replace him with someone better than Nathan Jones.

This is the problem he has. He went for the "comfort blanket" approach. Thinking if we have enough bodies back there, we'll survive the initial enslaught. But in the end it just invites pressure and mistakes and resulted in 2 goals conceded. The opposite effect. Just shows such a lack of tactical nous, a low-league management brain at work. That kind of thinking doesn't work at the higher levels. We need a manager who isn't afraid to play a back 4 and can motivate, train and instill discipline in the players so that we don't have to rely on this "strength in numbers" approach of his. -

Chances missed. But in truth barely anything gilt-edged was created for the last 15-20 mins. -
Hold on there, you don't mean that last bit But I understand the sentiment.
