Concur, for mine I don't think Jos and Fonte aren't totally up to the job so if we get a CB in (as good as they are) for cover then I guess we can always try the loan market or wait for January 2013. I guess if we fail in our CB attempts then we will get this crazy period of games out of the way and then assess whether we need to get a high quality CB loan in....

The nearer we come to TDD (that's transfer deadline day!!) the more we run the risk of buying players "out of desperation" to fill the roles. Would you rather we bought no-one because no-one was available or bought a mediocre to good player because he was available and we needed someone?

Seriously Alps, how do you know we haven't been after any CBs? Maybe we've made enquiries as to the decent ones and they aren't available at a decent price. We've got enough adequate backup (not good/exceptional I grant you) that we haven't had to panic buy at the start of the window. Most clubs will try and hold out to maximise their profit on players and if that means that we buy 4 CBs on the last day at 22:59BST so be it.....

Ha ha ha ha Even me with my limited knowledge of football contracts know that if a player doesn't sign for another month then he becomes a free agent and can sign for anyone. It's a rolling one month contract that the Skates, the Player and the FA all have to agree to when it comes to renewal time.... Now I'm quite happy that these players are doing quite well now because it means that when their month is up, someone else will offer them a longer term contract and they'll be off and Pompey will be back in the ****....

I seem to recall reading that we had agreed a separate 1.5m fee with Penarol (in what currency I have no idea), that fee wouldn't be coming out of the €12.5m net that we agreed/were agreeing with Bologna. Now it seems to me that we had agreed something with Bologna and they suddenly realised that they weren't going to get as much Net as they thought they were, so it seems that the foundations of the moving goalposts are built on sand!!!

Well, if one of the latest tweets is to be believed they want €15m net and I think we're offering €15m gross (which is about €12.4m net!!) But I'm sure that this is a change from their original acceptance of our offer.
