  1. Get as big an LG TV as you can with what is left over after buying one of these (not necessarily from eBuyer though!) Links with the LG TV well, HTS and PVR built in. If you spend £500 on a decentish TV (forget 3D it's a gimmick) you can still get a PS3 or Xbox 360 as well. 3 separate units but your PVR will play MKVs HD movies etc, and it's got DLNA so if you do go for a Media Server PC based solution (serviio, Plex etc) you're sorted....plus CIFS as well so you can link directt to shares on your laptop (via WiFi) if'n you want. Life's Good...
  2. Pmpey Math alert
  3. http://myp2p.mu/ The fourth stream is the best quality but it's quite choppy
  4. I agree it's a good thing, I just don't think *UNLESS IT IS MADE VERY VISIBLE BY THE FA AND THE FSF AND THE TFO* that many people will care or know about it And they will use other means to resolve their problems.. In fact the FSF need to start making themselves more visible to football "customers", maybe this is the first step..
  5. Weak, Kraken, very weak. I didn't know about the FSF or Customer Charters before this thread, so that is the way I would have done things AND I would guess an awful lot of other people would too..
  6. I've been thinking about this and basically I don't really understand the need for a club charter. It is in essence a document stating "best practice" for the club! If I have a problem with the club my first port of call wouldn't be looking for the club's charter on the website. I'd be looking for a customer services contact (either telephone or email). If I couldn't find that then I'd be using the various fora to ask the question. If that still bought no joy either getting hold of the club or a satisfactory response to my complaint *THEN* I would do a t'internet search for a Football Ombudsman. Did very much the same thing recently when Mars stitched me up with one of their promotions, I didn't know the channels to follow but the internet showed me the way. So, basically, what I'm trying to say is "Club Charter === Pointless Exercise"
  7. Who was saying it should be ignored, I believe he was just pointing out Charming Man's MO
  8. Harsh but fair...
  9. A good combination of uTorrent (RSS downloader is awesome) and xspeeds.com is good for the sort of people that may want to do that sort of thing...
  10. It's on the HD boxes only ASFAIK Just switched back to Sky Fibre Unlimited from Virgin BB. Virgin's phone service is shocking, no caller display, no alert when you leave an analogue handset off of the hook (thanks rugrats!!). I cancelled Virgin 2 months ago and they're still trying to bill me, thank the lords I had the foresight to cancel my DD. Won't switch my TV pack over anyway as Sky have far more HD channels and the other TiVo gimmicks I just won't use...plus Virgin don't do CBS Drama!!
  11. Whilst I agree with the sentiments I don't think the FL have seen sight or sound of this bid yet. PKF have to approve it first before the FL have their say so..
  12. Here's something to divert your attention to for a little while :- http://lufctrust.squarespace.com/blog/2012/9/13/leeds-united-financial-analysis-2012.html
  13. Feck me this thread is sounding more and more like an obituary!! Never met him but I semi-slagged him off of on saintslist once, I did alopogise
  14. Jeez, I wasn't bragging I was just pointing out that I was never taught it! I have a degree too (Physic with Modern Computing) and I don't even remember any precedence rules in the maths I was taught doing that.... Funnily enough I was talking to a guy at work who is 23 and he knew about BODMAS. And funnily enough your y^2 got me thinking about what we accept, cos if I see 3y^2 I take it as 3 * (y^2) not (3 * y)^2. Reading the wikipedia article on it the bit that stick out for me is :- BUT we're getting away here, because we're talking about algebraic notation, not a simple sum as first mooted in the thread, ie the diff between A+BC or A+B*C So, for mine, the answer is 1, so there Oh and try 1+2*3 using the calculator in Windows (if you use windows) in basic and scientific mode, former gives you 9, latter gives you 7. Not confusing in the slightest is it........
  15. Absolute ******, I got an A at 'O' level maths and a B at 'A' level maths and I was never taught about order and precedence in maths, it was always left to right (unless of course parentheses are employed)! If you wanted something done before something else you'd put parentheses around it, therefore you would have been better writing 3+(4*5). It's only since "getting into" computing that I learnt about the logical order of things in maths statements and about programming using parentheses. Maybe that has now filtered down to how they teach things at school....
  16. I was just thinking the very same thing....David bloody Healy....
  17. Well, as the emitter is travelling at the speed of light, initially, the light particles will travel at 2x the speed of light, which is impossible......
  18. The word principles doesn't imply good principles. They may be either or neither or a mix of both.... So I would say that Appy is continuing in the rich vein of form that past Pompey companies have shown
  19. Nice if you have a spare ~£30K+ a year
