  1. No way would I swap. I think they will get so caught up in the Cup they will go the way of Wigan.. They may end up with games in hand and that was Wigan's undoing. They go to the end of the season believing they could get the results they needed. Ran out of runway.. If we can really kick on in the league we could make 7th or 6th and that would be good if we want to attract good players in the summer. We need to strengthen the squad and then who knows.
  2. Yet another 19th Century performance from WHU. My god they are boring. I really do hope they get relegated. With Carroll out for 3 games that may curb their momentum.
  3. Same old people coming out with the same old stuff. People buying in the January window are panic buying. Every one knows that and so the market reflects that. I think we are able to remain calm and believe that we can continue to perform well. After Tuesday I can't see why not. Let the WHUs, Cardiffs etc. get on with it. Unless there is someone out there better than what we have then we should not panic buy.
  4. This would have happened whether NC had resigned or not. The difference probably would have been that NC would have kept it quiet. KL changes the culture for a more open communication with fans and we still complain. At least we seem to better know what is going on. Sh** like this happens. Let's just deal with it.
  5. How about Rafa Benitez. He does Interim well..
  6. As I said yesterday the FIFA Rules state in the context of a Reckless Tackle. “Reckless” means that the player has made the move with complete disregard for danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. No mention of getting the ball first.
  7. He may have got a slight touch on the ball but the rules regarding reckless tackles say “Reckless” means that the player has made the move with complete disregard for danger to, or consequences for, his opponent. Wes Brown I think did exactly that.
  8. In the old days Saints would have lost this. I am more worried about the injuries than the result. Today showed that the players play for MP not NC which is encouraging..
  9. Let's see if the likes of Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins come out with some truths about what really happened to them.
  10. Fulham were sold for well over 100 Million. Look at our assets on the pitch. A tidy bunch worth over £100 Million at least. A good investment. However, who would you prefer owning the club, the Liebherr's or someone like Tan at Cardiff. I know who I'd chose. Germans have a knack of executing strategies well.
  11. I was once advised by a colleague never make a career decision on the basis of the existing Manager because it's likely that he also has a career plan and will just as easily move on. It's what happens.
  12. If you think about it. After ML's death the owner (KL) clearly did not want to be involved at all in the running of the club. Did she ever attend a game. Nobody knows. Do we really want an owner who is not interested in the club and its heritage. She clearly wants to sell the club and may already have a buyer ready to go. With an interested buyer my guess is that NC could see his control being diluted and that was probably where the conflict has been all along. If managed well there is no reason why something positive can emerge from this. My guess is that she's smarter than we think and has probably been well advised. Many a large organisation has lost a charismatic CEO but continued to succeed. It's better that it happened now that we are in a good position as a club.
  13. Bring back RL!
  14. What about Rueben Agboola. He wasn't bad. Not forgetting Paul Bennett who came through Saints youth system. Showing my age now.
  15. Shame about that one lapse of concentration. Apart from that we have controlled Everton well.
  16. Anyone notice how he came on to the pitch at the end and hugged all his team mates. Not the behaviour of a man who is unhappy and wants to leave.
  17. Whoops. Lost the URL http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/stats.asp?a=274883
  18. Some stats from our 1-0 away win at leeds a couple of years ago. Not disimilar to the Stats yesterday. I remember feeling that this was a smash and grab and I remember Neil Warnock saying the same thing..**** happens.
  19. Dani showed commitment and a bit of passion and I hope that goal triggers a good tally in the next few games.
  20. A Bruce Grobelaar moment from Boric according to Alan Hansen. Good thing is that that the howler didn't rattle him.He seems to be that sort of player. Also good to see Wanyama come back strong after last week..
  21. I did notice that at the start of the game you could see Llallana following his Saints instincts and moving to press the back four but then glancing behind him to see that the support wasn't there so he retreated. Our players work in a system that is well defined and they will press knowing that the rest of the team are of the same mind so players like Lallana and Rodriguez feel confident in their role. For England you will be asked to play in a different way and I guess that's what makes a good international player. One who can adapt to different systems Lallana clearly can but maybe Jrod struggles. Difficult to judge in one game.
  22. Pahars last minute equaliser at home to Liverpool when we came back from 3-0 down in the last 17 mins. One of my favourites.
  23. I wonder whether Big Sam will ever take WHU any further. Seems to spend more time nullifying the opposition than trusting his own team's abilities. It was obvious what he was doing tactically on Sunday and I think MP needs to be able to adapt playing style when that happens. I think we did that in the 2nd Half as they tired and consequently allowed us more space. Doesn't alter the fact that we need to adapt from the outset.
  24. An impressive player who controls the back four. Intelligent, comfortable on the ball and passionate.
