Good help us if we cant beat Stockport! They have lost 16 times already this season! We somehow managed to only draw with them last time out - if we fail to win this time, then questions have got to be asked.

Get to the playoffs and just miss out is better than finishing in the bottom half of L1. Gives us a good foundation to build on. -

Not many - particularly those with ambition. Many would have signed as assumed (like me) that the playoffs were realistic this season. -
Not negative imho. I don’t cut, twist and manipulate data to support my arguement. I stick to facts and don’t like to fairy about. If I spoke to AP today I’d “Alan listen 1 win in 3, you’ve spent millions – whats going on!” Whereas a lot on here would say “Oh hi Alan, I’m happy to have a club love you”
-
To answer the OP. To reach the playoffs you need to win games......1:3 (10 wins in 26) is not play off form its mid table (and that where we are)
-
Villa have spent millions - everyone who is anyone is the prem has spent millions. Look at every league in every country - the top sides are the sides that spend the most. We are an exception to this rule. We have spent more than every L1 side, most CCC teams and half of the prem sides, yet remain in the botom half of L1.
-
We were better or at least on par with Charlton and Norwich last season - this season they have spent far less, yet we are now well behind them!

Wouldnt MKD's pay 300K? Plymouth paid 250 and sent him on loan - he's been a hit at MKD's so imagine they will look for more than 20% profit? -

Seems alot for a L1 side - but guess thats the price you pay to beat off competition. CCC clubs (Watford, Reading) have been linked as have MKD's (on a perm) and Leeds. It will go down as undisclosed no doubt! -

Seems odd - wouldnt say we need more wingers, while Lallana, Waigo, Antonio and Holmes are here? -
I havent seen much either

How much? Nobody can compete with us! (Financially at least) -
This is true - I'm not asking for the world, would just like to see the best players being picked and to improve on a win ration of 1:3 I had hoped that AP would turn average players into very good ones - so far he seems to buy very good ones and make them average.
-
Well he needs to make his mind up - we were warned about his compulsive spending by Charlton. He will be under extreme pressure to deliver next season, so had better make his mind up pronto. I agree he doesnt know what his best side is right now - after 40 odd games thats a bit of a worry.
-
No kidding - win ratio (league) of 1:3! AP needs to pick a starting 11 and stick with it for a few games - changing 75% of your defence each game is not a formula for success. Playing your best players will also help.
-
Your comparison is as weak as Lallana in a tackle. Man City have spent money so have the rest of the prem. L1 sides have not spent millions so AP should be getting more out of his 'stars'
-
They are competing with sides like Man United, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal ect ect who also spend millions. Our competition is Brentford who spend less than 200 k on the whole team.
-
Thanks for backing up my point! Also in the semi final of the cup! Proper cup too
-
Take a look at all leagues (Every country) its no coincidence that the teams that spend the most are occupying the top spots in each league. You may find one or two exceptions - we are one.
-
You need to speak to CP, NC and AP as they all think Fonte cost 1.2. Tell them you spoke to the guy on the CP forum - they will be delighted that he cost 500k less than they thought. Also we just saved 200k on Lambert and Patterson was worthless so Barnard did cost 150k
-
Fonte 1.2 million Davis 1 million Lambert 1 million Thats 3 players and we are already above your 3 million estimate. Thomas was on the bench - he cost another million. The Brentford side cost under 200k. We paid more for just Seaborne!

The 'it's not the end of the world' thread

Nobody should go to any games this season as this season is just for practice. We should also have saved the millions we have spent as staying up this season is our ambition. -
I agree - spend millions, retain your best players - then win 1 game in 3 (league). Miracles do come true! Nobody (should) care about the JPT its a joke cup. Take this away and our season has been very poor. If im ML or NC id have expected more from the huge player investment.
