We have spend more in 5 months than Swindon have the last 8 years combined.....so yes they are doing better than us. Wilson would be ahead of AP in any manager of the year competition if the draw was done now!

I see Hoddle is off to Reading (Maybe) I agree Lawrie is rightfully one i'd consider, likewise MLT. AP has a long long long way to go.

The euphoria surrounding the JPT is a concern - I can see us celebrating this trophy like we have won the world cup. Hailing AP as a legend and messiah We riduculed pompey for celebrating the 'Asia Cup'!! The JPT is a joke cup and I would hate to think that this effects our promotion ambitions

I think its clear that NICKG has no clue - he has posted about 10 "last xx Fixtures" threads and still gets some results wrong Like you say he ruled Saints out for promotion this season and insisted Tisdale was "The man for the job"

All were doing badly when the manager took over - they are now all outperforming Saints.

My argument is not that AP is good/bad or ugly - it was simply to challenge the ridiculous notion (put forward by Windmill Arms2) that he's already a 'legend' By challenging this laughable statement I was asked to produce the name of another manager that has turned a team around - I named 10 of the top of my head and could have easily named more. To call AP a legend for doing an 'alright / semi decent' job is madness. Maybe once he has us in the Prem and winning trophies I will reconsider.

All managers would love to be able to buy 8 new players - this is not a curse but a blessing. Most of the managers ive listed above have needed to make do with the players they have and are succesful despite this.

I tend to ignore all the fluff 'have to say' bollix and look behind, in-between and inside the words. Football managers are like politicians as far as they are programmed/robot like with interviews. Few speak the whole truth, saying more what the fans and chairman want to hear. They will however occasionally slip up and when they do only a few will be able to spot it! Its a gift.
