If we had signed this guy after his solo goal at St Mary’s in preseason this would have been greeted with more enthusiasm. Our predicament does mean this is only acceptable if he’s not the main striker and is one of 2 more attacking players coming in. 14 apps in La Liga this season 2 goals and 2 assists. In 9 of which he played 65 mins or less and only completed the 90 mins once. Goal every 397 mins, roughly every 4.5 games. Has played CF and LW/RW. Transfer Market has CF as his main position, which is worrying if we’re holding any hope for him to sign with another CF. I think Danjuma, also linked with the PL (Everton and Bompey) is the better player. On a more positive note, we would be a fast team on the counter with Orsic and Jackson in the team. Just the question of who is putting it in the net!

Lots of ‘The Athletic’ noises about this for quite a while now. Looks pretty likely to happen. Pace and power yes, clinical edge we all want to see fire us to safety, perhaps not. As I said yesterday a front 3 of Orsic - Ings - Jackson would be exciting to watch.

Looks like Forest are going for Wood, who seemed a popular choice amongst some posters on here when the window opened. It worries me that this team of individuals is going to click, we are already 5 points behind them.

Interesting… I think the Hull striker is more appealing than semenyo, who’s only scored 5 goals this season.

Given our situation and that we haven’t been able to replace Ings since he left. I would take him back with no hesitation whatsoever. Semenyo is a new link from the Athletic and it seems Nicolas Jackson could happen too. Orsic, Ings, Jackson - that’s quite an exciting front 3!

Might be one where we failed early in the window but things can change as deadline day approaches. He likes to sign for us on deadline day IIRC. I’m sure Villa’s activity would give us a clue, they won’t be getting rid of Danny without a replacement. Looks like he’s 3rd choice in Emery’s system behind Watkins and Bailey. Danny would be first choice king of the scummers here.

We already have Che and Armstrong who would smash that league. I also think Mara would do well there too… We need to spend more on this position, crucial to our season IMO.

Sounds like one to keep an eye on! I must admit I don’t know much about Borges. I guess seeing the quality of Lavia gives me hope that they might sell a baller. I still can’t get my head around Philips signing for £50m and giving us Lavia. Maybe it’s because they know he won’t develop quickly on their bench. Either way long May this relationship continue. We clearly need to stay up to make the most of that relationship.

I think City are more than happy to give us players they won’t risk regularly in their first team and retain that option to buy them back. They either make money for players that won’t ever make it for them or buy back the ones that will (Lavia would be likely an example in future). Almost becomes a development fee for turning their promising talents into top 4 players for the ones they would buy back. Also suits or sustainable model well, surely everyone is a winner?

The latest rumour that Nice have bid €18m for Moffi and he’d prefer to stay in France is an odd one. Especially if we had £20m rejected. I hope this is all agent chat and he’s coming to save the day. Or alternatively that we have another (like Beto) being worked on in the background. Maeda is not the main striker we crave.

With Bournemouth interested in Moffi and now having a stake in L’orient does that put them in the driving seat? If not surely he would choose Newcastle. Sounds like 7 PL teams are after him so not sure why he would choose us sat in dead last. Also if we have had a £20m bid rejected, if we increase surely we are overpaying, survival would be worth it of course but not sure we will do that?
