  1. Posted on the transfer thread but he’s been seen in the video released of training this morning.
  2. Edozie had him on toast, but Smith did hit our bar and make a couple of decent crosses for them, which they fortunately wasted.
  3. Not sure I want to see Sulemana put a Saints shirt on again, he can f-off as far as I’m concerned.
  4. For Stewart, the Achilles tendon injury is the one to worry about. A couple of hamstring injuries 3 years apart less so. Hopefully it’s not changed him and he’s fit to play in a month.
  5. Genuine confidence or sarcasm?
  6. https://x.com/southamptonfc/status/1696832628907819220?s=46&t=7raSKCMt6LV8RJ1C2d39WQ I spot a KWP in todays training video from Saints OS, for those that thought his absence from yesterday’s gallery was a hint of him being already gone.
  7. Keeping KWP would be a big surprise this window. Pretty sure we all expected at least one of him and Tino to leave, I would have bet on KWP being the one of the first to go, he’s a great player. 2 years left on his deal is usually the time to cash in on his best value. I hope he continues to go under the radar here, be huge for us this season and if we can go back up, maybe a chance to extend that contract too.
  8. Sounds like a chalobah is Bayern’s first choice. Maybe more likely ABK ends up at Dortmund with that loan and obligation. Think that’s a logical move for him, get a decent sell on fee included please
  9. Does Castagne to Fulham increase the likelihood of KWP staying? He may have been sitting it out for Leicester recently but a decent player to lose.
  10. It’s so important having Will and Flynn to make this system work best. The pair of them are passing % machines.
  11. Release clause for relegation I think. So if we go back up at the first time of asking (assuming he doesn’t move perm), does that clause end?
  12. Celebration needs work. What a hit though!
  13. Trying not to get ahead of myself here but i have to admit Ryan Fraser didn’t take long yesterday to convince me he’s going to be a great signing. I had my doubts about lack of game time, attitude, motivation at this level and big wages. Obviously we need to see him deliver for us on a regular basis but the early signs are that he actually improves the starting 11, rather than is a useful squad player. Very happy to have my concerns proven wrong, long may that continue. Holgate hasn’t kicked a ball yet but I’m trusting he might do the same.
  14. I’m still surprised he came here really, it is a fabulous signing at this level. 99% passing accuracy, straight off the toilet… that is very impressive!
  15. Reality of relegation hitting home when we are losing out on players to Sheffield United, who are reportedly in financial ruin. They are likely to go down this season but still are a PL shop window. Both McAtee and Archer were seemingly top targets for us. Another case of setting our targets too high perhaps?
  16. https://x.com/swansea_indy/status/1696061158594068947?s=46&t=7raSKCMt6LV8RJ1C2d39WQ Swans will reportedly only sell if we match their valuation, was that £12m? That option to extend his contract by a further year takes the pressure off a little but the player has reportedly told them he wants to come here.
  17. https://x.com/thesaintcentre/status/1696062373814034940?s=46&t=7raSKCMt6LV8RJ1C2d39WQ Nixon saying we will lose out on McAtee to Sheffield United
  18. Think pain might be variable with an ACL? Examples like VVD just walking off the pitch and then Rodriguez, Broja and Orsic screaming loudly and in agony. Nightmare for Jack, finally looked settled as an important player and now captain and he’s obviously out for a long time, if not the entire season. Is Holgate the answer? At least the window is still open to do something about this.
  19. Pretty sure the ref tried to play advantage but gestured the moving ball motion when he brought it back. Sekou Mara was just a bit too quick to take it and the ball was indeed still moving slightly when he played Fraser in.
  20. Still noises that Everton want Sulemana, Gnonto staying at Leeds it seems if he’s playing for them all of a sudden and apologising etc. Straight loan, loan with obligation and permanent transfer are all still options apparently. But how do they have the money to buy if they sign Beto? I could see us looking to replace Tella with McAtee or Roberts. We have been linked to both this summer. McAtee may have interest from PL though. Despite what the Swans manager says, surely it is very likely we get Wood, especially as Jack’s injury sounds very serious. Hoping Holgate can do what Fraser did yesterday and show he’s motivated and good enough to help. I was pleasantly surprised with Fraser, looked immediately like he can help us. I can see Che going to Palace. I wish we could hold firm on him, sign Stewart and then in January if Stewart is fit and firing we could cash in on Che to a desperate PL team and everyone wins. Sadly player power means we will blink first and sell Che this week. His absence yesterday says it all. Lyanco to Celtic sounds good, he would probably do well over there. Hoping we don’t decide keeping Lyanco is a solution to Jack’s injury. Should be a very busy and interesting week. At least when we play Sunderland we will finally have the group confirmed and players that want to put on the shirt. We all just want to know what that looks like and if it’s promotion charge capable.
  21. Including his end of season run at Swansea, that’s now 10 wins and 3 draws in his last 13 Championship games. He’s had a lot of change and noise going on for his first month of the season with us and he has handled it brilliantly. Looks a great appointment so far and generally a much better watch than we’ve had to put up with for the last 2 years.
  22. Isn’t Sinclair Armstrong starting?
  23. Impressive to sell out for QPR at home in the champs, great effort from our fans!
  24. As much as I can see the logic in the sensible posts above regarding our current situation and wider strategy, selling a guy on a two year contract that just fired debt leveraged Burnley to the big time is not good business. We have a choice here and we are choosing to let an important player at this level leave, in the same week we will lose our main striker and reportedly lost out on his replacement and don’t have a big budget left. I can see what we are doing generally but as things stand, there seems to be a huge risk being taken with the goalscoring element of our team. The one place I’d rather we didn’t take that risk. Week to go in the market and we may yet keep Sulemana and buy a Che replacement that is better than Piroe, but I think it’s reasonable to have some doubts!
  25. Feels like they rolled the dice, got burnt and now want to balance the books before doing anything. Unlike Gao they actually have access to money and seemed to understand you’ve got to invest to make money. I think being in the championship they are treading very carefully. In short still an underwhelming sustainable approach that isn’t competitive in this mega rich modern football space.
