I know we’ve slipped up in a few games and so have missed the opportunity to overcome the -4 points already. However, after all the uncertainty surrounding Tonda and having to pick ourselves back up to go again, to be on top in points earned (on GD) is fantastic. Managing through without Jander, Larin getting injured when league top scorer and struggling to deal with spygate noise (losing first game back and last game before FA decision is no coincidence). I’ll take it. Tonda has averaged title points over his first year in charge and January provides an opportunity to further strengthen.

Annoying we’ve only taken the smaller just over 2k allocation for Wolves on Saturday 5/12. Our last game there was the full 3k allocation and didn’t even reach member sale. We’ve opted for the smaller section behind the goal so no extra tickets depending on sales.

Wonder how JWP feels about this, hopefully loving the karma. Without Nuno he’s probably a starter at WHU and doesn’t come home. I’m glad Nuno cast him aside and he’s our player.

He’s not featuring much at all and when he does he seems to be the most unlucky player in front of goal I’ve ever seen. It’s telling that Edozie is ahead of him in Tonda’s pecking order. He’s so good at driving forward with the ball and a decent crosser but we just aren’t seeing it from him lately. Frustrating for all.

Just 12 tickets left for this if there are any last minute takers… Off sale at 10am. Usually a close game at their place, missing Jander and Larin is not ideal for this game and the 3 game week. Hopefully we can continue to do well without them. I wouldn’t risk either of them if there are any doubts. Give them the international break to get ready for the next block. Does feel inevitable that JJM is going to score against us. Think we will need to score at least 2 tonight. Looking forward to going to these back to back away games.

Dobbin deserved his goal. Warming to him as he and his teammates understand how to play together. We have missed Larin though, hope he’s back next week.

I want to see Dobbin come out and channel his frustration at being robbed of a goal and go and get another.

We have the replay and it looks like he is just off but I do agree he doesn’t go to play the ball or actually impact the keeper’s ability to save the shot. Goal should stand but the kind of thing VAR does. After the Bolton non-penalty the refs are not doing us any favours!

I think if we had VAR the goal doesn’t stand. Stephens comes from an offside position and can be seen as interference but in reality I don’t think their keeper can save it regardless, very annoying as that swings the game highly in our favour if it stands. Perfect time to score and I think we did the same last season against them, right before HT.

Frustrating from a Saints point of view to lose such a key player for him to not even be playing (other than their league cup game).

Our two defeats have come against 2 poor performing sides, very frustrating. Do wonder how much the cloud over Tonda has affected things, especially in away games. Hopefully we win tomorrow and kick on.

We didn’t hear about Chelsea appealing until the final verdict was published but this is a manager not a club, so not sure if comparable for any hush rules from the FA.

The Rob Edwards link and radio silence from the FA over the last week since the hearing does support the theory that we have appealed a decision. Chelsea had appealed their initial decision (with success) and that was kept quiet throughout. Maybe there is a good chance Tonda will be in the dugout against the skates with an appeal ongoing. It’s all very frustrating as the expectation was by the end of this international break it would be fully dealt with. Still just over a week before then, so perhaps it still might be but at the moment it feels like the uncertainty might rumble on.

My understanding is the 3 charges are all against Tonda specifically, points deductions are not on the table.

Saints stance in the media has gone from Parsons suggesting we haven’t been looking for replacements on Monday/Tuesday to the more believable preparation for worst case scenarios this morning. My question is, do we think that’s because we have an indication a long ban is coming?
