  1. Great minds McQueen to start then?
  2. 21 players making the trip. Bertrand, Targett, Redmond not travelling. Boufal is on the plane
  3. There certainly not many 6'4" strikers who can run with the ball either. He's made terrific progress in a year. He couldn't get in the MK Dons side last year. Coyle is probably a decent manager to nurture him too.
  4. I certainly recall him being linked with Spurs.
  5. He's got the 1st double of his career now. 2-0
  6. The experience he's getting is invaluable. Really pleased for him.
  7. http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-keeping-eye-bundesliga-starlet-january-move-possible/
  8. We don't play him every game because he doesn't have the stamina or endurance for it IMO. Claude is managing him correctly IMO.
  9. You've hinted at this before. A fit & firing Berahino is a very good player & a move is what he needs, but we would have to work some magic on him as he's thrown a sulk that even by our standard of sulks is impressive. He's very good mates with Redmond, I believe. I don't doubt that they would still be interested in Jay themselves too.
  10. The latest episode of this was put up last week (text only this time). https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-10-08/press-box-october-international-break-part-one
  11. Very true. As he's 23, will WBA lose him for nothing next summer? Or will they get compensation?
  12. Very early I know, but figured I'd create a thread for whispers about signings as they appear. Starting the ball rolling with this one: Southampton boss Puel targets Rennes attacker Paul-Georges Ntep: http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/southampton-boss-puel-targets-rennes-attacker-paul-georges-ntep-4151148
  13. WBA still facing problems with Berahino. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/10/17/west-brom-put-overweight-saido-berahino-on-special-training-regi/
  14. After his performances so far I've no doubt that we will want him to sign a new contract, but the Big Vic / Clyne situations in recent seasons do cross my mind. Fingers crossed he signs a new deal.
  15. He does come across as a genuinely nice bloke.
  16. Schneiderlin not even on the bench tonight.
  17. One of the thing's I've noticed about Romeu when I've watched him is how well he senses danger.
  18. Apologies for starting a new thread, but I couldn't find the latest HCDAJFU / Players linked thread... Jai Quitongo was linked at the weekend: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/10/16/report-southampton-want-morton-attacker-jai-quitongo-crystal-pal/ My favrouite line from the article:
  19. Agree with this. Vic was a pure destroyer & was perfect to play with a midfield partner (Clasie or Morgan) who could pass the ball. I think Romeu is better in Puel's system than Vic would have been purely because it involves a lot more passing. (Oriol has surprised me as I thought he'd struggle as a 'solo' DM, but he's been very impressive). Absolutely loved Big Vic though, but massive credit to Romeu for his performances so far.
  20. I've been banging this drum for a little while.
  21. I noticed Redmond had an ice-pack at the end of the game. Probably from where Defour battered him 1st half.
  22. Hamstring.
  23. Virgil's aerial stats are going to be mental in this game.
  24. That was some strike!!! Great goal!!
  25. GET IN AUSTIN! (The most Charlie Austin goal ever!)
