I don’t get it. The player has been horribly mediocre at best for his entire Saints career. We reward him with a new contract and captaincy. The Saints way.

The Russell Martin way. Despite 12 unbeaten or whatever it is, I struggle to remember a game we’ve actually dominated and created lots of chances and clearly shown we’re the better team. Winning the possession stat won’t ultimately get us enough points for automatic promotion.

We can’t seem to put teams to the sword . Every game we go into seemingly hoping one goal is enough. We have the attacking players , so it has to be a coaching issue. This possession for possession sake football will be our ultimate undoing this season .

We have zero intensity in any game ever . Passing it around in midfield for passing around sake . Where’s our urgency ?

Five years ago I thought that Stephens was league one standard and nothing since has changed my mind. We are trying to get promotion , the fact we extended this abomination and made him captain is symptomatic of the poor decisions at SFC these days. We need someone who can actually lead this bunch of deadbeats and have some drive and accountability, instead we’ve got Mr Mistake who can’t do the basics and certainly can’t lead by example. Depressing.

Building our team around Jack Liability Stephens and we’re surprised we can’t defend. Hopeless player . Club is stuck in a perennial cycle of poor decisions on and off the pitch .

Ridiculous. Stephens has been a liability for pretty much all of his career with us . Not only did we extend his contract, we’ve now made him captain. Big part of our decline . Seems we are Doomed to repeat the failures of the past.

I literally watched Everton for one minute, come back and Saints have collapsed . Never change Saints

Selles is doing his damndest to top my list of worst ever Saints manager. There’s some pretty healthy competition but this idiot keeps on finding new ways to move higher and higher up the list.

McCarthy is terrible and has been for years, coupled with probably the worst penalty saving ratio ever. Literally everytime the opposition get a penalty with him in goal, you know it’s going in.

Just allow it and put us out of our misery
