We havent played bad, but have contributed to our own downfall today. Boruc hasn't been called upon to do anything except pull the ball out of the net four times. Newcastle didn't really create a lot and ALL of the goals were avoidable from our standpoint. Disappointing.
Not getting enough possession of the ball and not smart enough with it on the rare occasions we have had it. Have created little to nothing and too many players seem to be having off days. Still can't play that bad again second half can we?
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew lost the reverse fixture against his former club in November and going into today's game he says: "It's going to be dear to my heart to win this game, trust me, so I won't be pulling any punches in my dressing room."
As I have said previously Adkins limitations was in danger of holding us back, If he had been in charge today we would have lost. We needed a change at the top and thankfully Cortese had the balls to make the change.
Just put a £1 on a treble of Saints, Qpr and Reading. Pays £126.. Knowing my luck QPR and Reading will win, then Saints will be winning until the 93rd minute and then let in a late equaliser after totally battering City all night..
It's frustrating but keep the faith. We played really well and defensive lapses cost us. We still have Forren and Fonte to come into defence and Lallana to come in for Puncheon hopefully. The performances are there and we will turn these draws into wins soon enough.
As someone who moaned and *****ed for 55 minutes or so of that match. I will eat humble pie and say what a comeback!! and what a difference having your best players on the pitch makes..
