  1. Was fully expecting a Norwich win - so anything less would be nice. Someone needs to tell Sheff U that Birm are losing and to pull their finger out. Judging by SSN Forest have now set up for the point.
  2. Palarse are playing 'rush keeper'
  3. We have to target the Sheff Wed game - awful team, nothing to play for, no atmosphere in half full stadium... If you could have picked an 'must win' away game, I'd pick that one...
  4. The away section looks massive - judging by the Bristol City game on The Championship. We should get the whole stand to ourselves a la the Derby 2nd leg. Shame it will be too late - though there are 3 reasons to take Forest with us: '79 '92 Billy Davies '07
  5. Saijs owed us after his 'mare on Saturday
  6. Shef U 1 - 0 Barn if not posted
  7. Yeah, I smuggly started copying the link ready to save Saints fans all over the globe when the dude said: "And Stevenage Boro have got a free kick here in a dangerous position"
  8. Did the same thing Cardiff game - p***ing me off! Any Watford links like er.... Radio Hertfordshire(?) or something????
  9. Nah, just as I thought its cut off
  10. Did you mean Saints TV or radio Hampshire stream. Saints TV not working but RH is fine (unless they cut it off before it Kicks off) Try http://www.radiohampshire.com/ And click Listen Live
  11. They usually cut it off before KO. Have to wait and see
  12. If this game had been played when it should have we'd have lost. Watford were right in the sh*t. Now they're all but safe and we need the points a lot more. Anything we get tonight will be a bonus - I'd take a point for sure. Anyone know what shirt we in?
  13. I've got £1000 in a Natwest saver online account thingy. Gathering interest. I was saving it for a rainy day. It just started raining.
  14. Hopefully Charlton Norwich will be a dead rubber. Plymouth v Barnsley however could be very interesting.
  15. Great result - but 9 points out of 9 and STILL in the drop zone. This league is going a bit mad. Still - imagine you are a Charlton player and you get back in the dressing room after another home defeat and find out Norwich and Saints have both won away from home. Blackpool game now starting to look MASSIVE.
  16. Only Derby left as a chance of another 'Double'
  17. So was I! Live in Newcastle so used a mates Season Ticket and went in the home end. Stayed incognito until MLT's free kick sailed past a motionless Hooper... Jacket off - shirt out. Longest 7 minutes plus injury time of my life! Still don't know how I got out of St James alive that day.
  18. I'm going to put a massive bet on us to win. £200+ You could have got evans (Paddy Power) to beat Doncaster. And thats absoultley shocking for a home game against a fellow struggler who we beat 2-0 at their place. We will be much longer v Swansea. Reminds me of the Bristol City game last season - for some reason I knew we'd turn them over but I didn't get on it. We were stupidly massive. Once the prices come out I'm jumping on. Regardless of the Norwich result.
  19. Probably also noticed the Norwich and Forest results of getting a new manager in. Except our new manager isnt new and we are the only club in the world where the "New Manager" effect doesn't work. Jones, Merrington, Sourness, WGS, Burley, Redknapp and Pearson did not win their first games
  20. Seems a bit mad - not exactly a regime change is it? Is Jan staying with the club? Almost as if he has said: "Go on then - you pick the team..."
  21. I was 13 and my only ever trip to 'Old' Wembley. My dad took me. We got murdered for the 1st half - went in 2-0 down. Our hoof it up to Dowie and Shearer tactics got nowhere against Forest's crisp passing game. We came out for the 2nd half - got murdered some more. Forest should have been out of sight but Flowers made some stupendous stops. On 60ish minutes a rare Saints corner got cleared out to Ruddock who whipped in a delicious cross for MLT to ghost in and head home from close range. Suddenly, the whole complexion of the game changed and Saints were in complete control. 68 mins - a MLT corner came in and Kevin Moore - who had been recalled from a loan spell due to a CB injury crisis [and wasn't even named in the squad list in the Programme] ran from outside the area, jumped the highest a football player or Michael Jordan has ever jumped and crashed an unstoppable header in off the underside of the bar. We had chances to win it. Terry Hurlock hit a screamer that was destined to crash into the top corner for one of THE great Wembley goals but the young lad Marriot somehow pushed it away. And we lost in extra time despite looking the more likely team. We didn't know at the time it would be the last ZDS final. I wonder if the trophy is still in Forest's Trophy Cabinet? It should have been in ours...
  22. Nick Holmes would have been my left back. Simply based on appearences and all round effort to the club. I can tell this is going to get my goat cos so far we have had: Shilton (did we get the best Shilton - no, that was the Forest Shilton) Bridge (did we get the best Bridge - no, Chelsea was a big error cos the guy who keeps him out the England team also keeps him out his club team) And we will most likely have: Wright (was amazing CB but broke his leg at a crucial time in his career and was long gone by the time he realised his potential - if he ever did)
  23. I can't agree with that. A Man U poll based on those conditions would see people like George Best and Bobby Charlton not getting a place. Hardly any Man U fans saw Duncan Edwards play, but I bet there wouldn't be any Man U fan (plastic or not) that wouldn't have him in their Greatest XI. Part of being a fan of any team is to have knowledge and respect of your history. We should wake our fathers/grandads up and ask them what was so great about Terry Paine or the time we beat Wolves 9-3. 4 people I never saw play but I know should be in Saints Greatest XI simply cos I'm informed enough to care... Bill Ellerington Terry Paine Mick Channon Ron Davies
  24. Well said, and I'll take your word for it - at least you appreciate the historical angle I was coming from. For example, Benali was far from being the most technically accomplished footballer but the fact he was one of ours, gave 100% and wore his heart on his sleeve made him a legend. You knew he could make the odd arse up (such as the horrific backpass vs Coventry and diving header o.g. vs Oldham which nearly got us relegated) but you let him get away with it. I've still got the Sky Sports Cup Final 03 on video and when studio guest Sourness sees Benali and Dodd coming up the stairs in their suits he says something like: "Theres two boys you'd want in the trenches with you..."
  25. How many games did Nick Holmes play at left back? I think its important in stuff like this that you keep a historical perspective on things rather than saying Bridge / Bale just cos you saw them play. I never saw Dennis Hollywood play - but looking at ITN he played more games at left back than anyone in the post-war era, so he deserves a mention. I certainly hope we can find some room for some of Saints great Edwardians, it was after all, the most successful time in our history.
