  1. What I don't understand is why the Tories are so opposed to AV. They don't win any seats in Scotland, Wales, the North East or North West... I live in the North East, I vote Conservative. Always have, always will. I would never consider voting tacticly in a LAB-LIB race even if I thought it would help Cammy and his hot Mrs... I live in a seat with a 22,000 LAB Majority which has been LAB for the last 50 years. Theres no point going to The Polling Station. My Dad in the same consituancy votes Labour cos my Grandad was a big Union Man and would turn in his grave if he voted anything else... Theres no point him going to the Polling Station either - he knows LAB are gonna win.
  2. Most non-saints fans I've encountered think the badge is pants... But it is one of the most recognisible in the whole of football. Plus, If we changed it I'd have to get rid of my Duvet Cover... and my girlfriend would hate that...
  3. Is 14/1 on bet365 I've stuck £20 on. Yes you'd be a brave man. Considering some of Posh's mad results this season. But they havn't had a 0-0 draw ALL SEASON... Law of averages an all that...
  4. Yep, just been online and bought one using my Customer Number and I'm not a ST. If it arrives is another thing - but it did let me buy one. Its charged my card and shows up on my Order History, so I can't see how they can back out now. My advice: BUY! BUY! BUY!
  5. Classic Football Shirts have a few of the Patrick Era ones that are tough to get, expensive though... http://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/other-uk-clubs/league-one/southampton.html I started with the Denmark Hummel 88 and have almost everyone since due to my superstition of having to wear the right shirt for every game. Incidently, it was my fault we didn't beat Hartlepool on Tuesday. The website said we would be in White and I only travelled with the one shirt, despite my brain telling me that Hartlepool B&W is actually one blue stripe. I'm always taking both shirts now regardless.
  6. Horrible, sad news. Loved his last minute header v Sunderland in a 2-2 draw, the winner at Aston Villa, and his (deflected) winner in the epic 4-3 League cup game with Man City. News might have come too late for this afternoon, but I hope the club will mark the occasion with maybe a minutes applause. And a good old chant of "DEANO!! DEANO!!!" From The Northam.
  7. Really bad day just got better. Got to Newcastle Station 9am. Major signal Fault no trains going anywhere. Gave it till 11.30. No hope. Went to pub. Got smashed. Got home in time to listen on website. First thing I click on 'Match Off'!
  8. Right, well change it to "Only League 1 Team Not Taking Part". I don't give a monkeys about which Champ or League 2 Teams are / are not taking part. Dagenham had 99p tickets last week. I wasn't on here saying "Lets have a 99p no segregation day". All I am suggesting is that here was an oppotunity to offer our supporters a chance to see a game for less than the usual prices and we chose for whatever reason to not get involved which I think is wrong.
  9. Yep its mad, but I'm with you. I'm trying to do the 92 and if we win Rochdale goes to midweek and I can't make it. And we won't be playing Rochdale next season (hopefully!) WE MUST NOT WIN!
  10. Yeah but I meant we are the only League 1 team. I just don't like this: "We're too big for League 1 attitude" Cos thats the way it looks. I know we had probs with The Sun at the start of the season. We will get 18,000 maybe for MK Dons @ Home + maybe 10 away fans. If we'd chosen to participate in The Sun deal and offered £9.50 tickets, we'd get 26,000 + the same 10 away fans. A chance to promote our club and get people that otherwise wouldn't go. And we choose to miss out.
  11. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/fun/competitions/promotions/article2825850.ece Guess which one it is! Not surprising considering we make MLT pay for his tickets. The Carlisle attendence will be given a boost by the Man U link but there are some unglamourous games like Yeovil and MK Dons which surely could have been boosted by this offer? Another example of the club being stuck up its ar*e trying to chase every penny. Even QPR who are top of Champ and could probably sell out every home game till the end of the season are participating.
  12. I'm on 49 League with Rochdale , Peterbro & Dagnham due to come in this year. I live in Newcastle so its tough midweek. I don't know how I'll ever do Plymouth or Exeter. But I gotta decide soon cos if I don't go this year I might never go... The 2 Welsh clubs are well out of reach.
  13. I'm not a ST but I'm trying to do the 92 so I have to go basically. Figureing how many people will bother to send letters, I sent the form with my Customer No hoping it doesn't get checked. I reckon I'll get a ticket. Its League 1 not the Prem. Dagenham not Old Trafford. I might be wrong, but my experience says that not many STs actually go away - even to games 'up the road'. I saw Sheff Utd at Barnsley yesterday. Why is there not 15,000 Blades fans locked out of Oakwell? The away end wasn't anywhere near full. I can't understand. Its like an extra home game...
  14. I did 'Cinnamon Girl' by Neil Young in a Gay Bar, immediately after a lad did 'Angels'. Complete with slapping the microphone on my thigh to create the clapping and an air guitar solo at the end. I was sh*tfaced on Red Stripe and Absinthe. Reaction was similar to when the two Yanks walk into 'The Slaughtered Lamb' in 'American Werewolf In London'
  15. 4-0 West Ham in '88 1-0 Coventry in '99 our only 1st day wins in my memory. and we were 2-0 up @ Derby in '00 and messed it up. Draw on Saturday I reckon, I think it might be very similar to last seasons Millwall opener. We will defo win next year in '11
  16. Bit cruel, considering they never even registered on my football radar till last week. But after getting soaked and watching a miserable performance which blew my £50 accumulator, I really wished ill on them today. Tisdale is a good young manager, Pool were unlucky (though rightly) to be punished. If you can't win a single away game all season - can't win away against a alreadly relegated team on the last day then sorry, you don't deserve to stay up. To all the Gills fans on the pitch last week... :finga::finga::finga::finga::finga::finga:
  17. Official. Rovers and MK Dons are gonners. But Charlton who only need 2 points have: NORWICH h EXETER a LEEDS h OLDHAM a So it might be worth including them.
  18. TBF dotcom, I'd get rid of MK Dons max 71pts and a minus goal difference. Its only in the realms of mathematical improbability...
  19. Well hudd was a sickner, cos even a draw was not expected but it means that hudd need another result now.
  20. Shows that this prediction malarky is tough, HUD lose a point we gave them, COL get 3 points we didn't have them down for. Goal Diff means we only need the same points...
  21. That game in hand (OLDH home) is technically 5 points off. HUDD was good, COLC was unexpected, but I'm less worried about them. That draw at Brighton is looking really tragic now, especially since they've lost the last 2 to HART and CARL. I'm even starting to think we could afford to take a point at BRIR
  22. TBF, I'd be very surprised if the JPT was region coded. Most of these sold-through-the-club things are region free. All of Saints Season Review DVDs were. Saints will probably expect to ship alot to expat fans who couldn't make it or find it on TV in their country.
  23. Did anyone hear it about half an hour ago... Comment was along the line of: "How come someone like Rickie Lambert who has never played in the top 2 divisions has now played at Wembley twice when some great players never get to play there..." ...and: "If he was good enough, he'd have made it by now..." Closest I've ever come to ringing up a phone in:mad: I couldn't understand where he was coming from - Was he suggesting things like the JPT shouldn't be played at Wembley? Or was he taking a cheap pop at our best striker? I mean, a man and his dog can play at Wembley now. They had a schoolgirls match on the pitch before KO. Unless Barca get to a European Final at Wembley or England play Argentina in a friendly, its quite likely that someone like Messi might never play at Wembley. Hope RL scores a hattrick against The Posh next season
  24. Arrgh! I've just realised I paid full price for my Dad who Is 61. I thought I might have lost a couple of quid, but checked the archive and its £12.
  25. I'd enter, but whats the answer to the question?! Who were the sponsors of the Football League Trophy (from 2000 to 2007) before Johnstone's Paint? LDV Vans? Freight Rover Trophy?
