I think you are over egging Boufal there. The lad certainly had a go and put some effort in so fair play but nothing he did really changed the game even for the Pen the combo of a poor pass and Longs awful first touch meant Long was going no where useful so we were lucky the toon defender decided to put in a challenge had he just stood Long up we'd if got nothing.

At least the defence look organized under Puel it looks like a mess now.

Better than the other free kick where everyone came up from the back only for us to pass a tame ball along the floor straight to a player in blue. A pass under no pressure and we still couldn't find a saints player.

Both have played if the manager thought they were better they would be playing instead of Redmond. Boufal is quickly becoming one of those players who gets better with every week he doesn't play.

If the manager wants to persist with this formation his choices are Boufal, a play even less productive than Redmond, or McQueen still relatively unproven. If it was me I'd give McQueen a run out but the truth is Redmond is the best option out of three pretty average options. Can we do better than Redmond..yes do we have better in the current squad.. not really.

Why will we get over run down the wings? Those are the same players who play those positions most weeks and we don't get over run down the flanks every week. The main issue for me with that team selection is weather it actually makes us any more dangerous in attack or weather Gabbi and Long are just going to get in each others way both trying to occupy the same space.

Surely Tadic will be the 10 and one of Gabbi or Long will play out wide?

Davis is the worst culprit I'm a fan of his but my god his shooting is terrible.

Despite us being crap that's not actually true we've had the 6th most shots in the league this season (and last season was the same) yet we have the worse shot conversion rate in the league (and not surprisingly we did last season to) the issue last season and this season is the lack of clinical finishing rather than this myth that we don't create anything.

Lol 27 league games 27 shots and 1 goal Boufal is clearly the way to change our non-goal scoring problems... If we are going to try something different it needs to be more than just shuffling the pack up front and try a new formation.

Not while the most important stat is goals scored we won't...

They are mostly plastics and if they are all dyed in the wool hardcore saints fans where were they all in league 1 and the championship.

I think it can get worse Boufal is even less effective than Redmond just check out his stats. If Redmond has to be dropped I rather see McQueen played out wide as a replacement.

It's actually 27 league appearances plus cup games for Boufal a good player would have nailed down place after that many games.

That's a question you'd have to ask the manager...
