  1. Fourfourtwos fifty best managers of 2017 got to be someone on that list.... https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/fourfourtwos-50-best-football-managers-world-2017
  2. What's Yoshida done to deserve dropping?
  3. Pretty much... what we need is the football equivalent of Ron Jeremy upfront
  4. How is an assist not contributing to goal scoring then?
  5. It's interesting to me that we are the 5th highest passers in the league and have the 4th highest amount of back passes this season which kind of sums up how people feel about our game plan at the moment. Having said the current top team for passes and back passes in the league this season is man city followed closely by spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool arguably teams we as fans would want saints to emulate. Clearly there is a difference in the quality of players at those clubs (especially in attack) to what is available to saints and with out that quality you have to wonder if it is worth us trying to play possession football.
  6. saints have scored 4 goals from open play this season Redmond 2 assists and Long 1 assist so actually they've made a contribution to 75% of the goals we've scored from open play...
  7. TBF he'll probably only have to face one shot on target playing against saints ideal game to ease his way into first team football.
  8. Problem is since our best player came back into the defence we've leaked goals like a sieve at the back.
  9. True but Redmond still had the vision to pick Gabbi out with a long cross field pass no pass equals no goal.
  10. mmmm Gabbi has two goals from open play this season and both assists have come from Redmond #chemistry
  11. Which is strange considering the chatter was that some players wanted Puel out... you'd think having got what they wanted they would have upped their game ...but it would appear not.
  12. saints have scored 6 tonight...
  13. Just watched the extended highlights on the O/s. The defending and VVD in particular look even worse the second time around for both goals. Forster is just **** poor on so many levels for their second while VVD just looks half arsed. Also I didn't realise it was the much maligned Redmond who delivered that rather nice cross field ball for Gabbi's goal (I guess technically it was an assist ). Can't help feeling if that ball from Redmond had fallen to Gabbi rather than Tadic it would have been a goal.
  14. Tbf I wasn't sure weather to play Gabbi or give Lemina run out at CF
  15. I doubt that much has changed in the last few months that Tuchel suddenly see us as an attractive proposition when he didn't previously. If holds on for a few weeks he can probably get a shot at the Everton or Liverpool jobs if he wants PL.
  16. Newcastle and Huddersfield couldn't beat us either and its hardly the first time we've been beaten by Stoke is it? Arguably our best performance this season was against Man U no doubt the likes of Bertrand, VVD and co will raise their games when auditioning for the big boys.
  17. and bar Palace vs Chelsea haven't they lost all those games? You're making the assumption they will win all the "easy" games to overtake us.
  18. correct me if I'm wrong but over a season so does everyone else? Unless everyone else is going to be beating those teams losing to them isn't really an issue we couldn't beat any of them last season and we were never even close to relegation.
  19. yeah I can just imagine the melt down our current crop of players would have being made to run, until they puked, all pre-season:lol:
  20. My Team for the game Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Lemina Gabbi
  21. What we need a player who gives the ball away to much? The problem is for all his exciting little tricks and flicks Boufals end product is practically non existent I believe he has zero assists, three big chances created and one goal in the league in 28 appearances. There's nothing wrong with possession football in its self as long as you have the players good enough to keep the ball and with the quality to convert the possession into a meaningful end product...sadly it seem we don't. The biggest issue for me us we have developed a style of play that seems to benefit none of our current strikers. All three have strengths and we play to none of them and instead bang endless high crosses into the box like we are playing with a big powerful CF leading the line. It's mad how often are strikers are playing with their backs to the opposition goal.
  22. Oh yeah not much of that still nothing better than watching the umpteenth floaty diagonal cross into, no one in particular, in the opposition box.
  23. Why would they need him? Surely Liverpool is a much more likely destination.
  24. We have a new owner that no one knows **** all about, a bunch of players who seem to be well on the way to driving out their second manager in as many seasons and a system where someone else picks the players for the manager and then leaves him to try shoehorn them into his favoured system. From Dyches point of view I reckon "better the devil you know" would have a strong attraction especially given how well Burnley are doing.
  25. Still doesn't answer the question why would he leave Burnley were he has cult status and doing really well to manage us? where is the attraction in saints?
