MoPe should have inherited a load of very happy players though. They got what they, allegedly, wanted with Puel being sacked and got a new manager and a clean slate for every player. Unfortunately giving the players what they wanted doesn't seem to have resulted in them playing any better in fact they actually seem to be getting worse it will be interesting to see how long it takes the players to start laying the blame for that at MoPes door.

Everton have reportedly made initial contact with former Watford, Napoli and Inter Milan manager Walter Mazzarri, as speculation mounts over the safety of Ronald Koeman’s job. https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAsNft5?m=en-gb

Lol no couldn't be that ?

What new board? As far as I'm aware the board structure at the club hasn't changed since the new guy took over. You are also assuming the new owner wants to start chucking money around in Jan there is no evidence for that.

Same old story the last season or so though isn't it? We tend start the game poorly, more often than not go a goal down, and then up it in the second half before throwing everything and the kitchen sink at it the last 10-15 minutes and come away with nothing but everyone saying we were unlucky not to get something from the game.
-
Koeman's style was never about the possession and poch's style wasn't the fuax Tiki-taka we have had the last two seasons though.

You always got the feeling he genuinely realised that he was lucky that he got to play football for a living and loved doing so. Everything he achieved he had to work hard for. I think it was something the fans appreciated and something that seems to be missing in a lot of modern footballers.
-
The broad bushstroke of possession football does seem to the issue though I'm pretty convinced most fans at SMS don't have the patience for it and most would be much happier with balls being banged down the channels or pumped over the top if it resulted in goals and wins.

Closest thing I've ever had to a man crush guy will always be legend for me. My kids were lucky enough to start watching saints just as we signed Rickie so I basically credit him, and all his goals, for turning my kids into die hard saints fans. Cheers for every thing you did in a saints shirt Rickie Lambert.

Interesting though that getting rid of Puel hasn't actually resulted in any improvement in our play (arguably we look even worse now then we did last season). I would have at least expected an upturn in the form of the players this season having got what they, allegedly, wanted with Puel's sacking. I wonder how long it will be before the players start blaming MoPe for their current inability to perform....

Me to. I miss his penalties, his free kicks, his hold up play and his bullet headers at the back post...I even miss his song.....sigh
-
Don't forget Nigel was a Goal keeper and we scored for fun under him....
-
We'd be better at the back we have 4 good CBs, two decent full backs and two good DMs perfect for the sort of organised and solid defence Koeman loves. We'd still be **** up front though because we have very little quality up front regardless of the manager.

Why in the hell would Gao think he had just bought a top six side did he get Saints and Arsenal mixed in his Chinese guide to the English premier league.......
-
I don't remember Boufal playing an awful lot in the hole last season.
-
He will not get the boot before Xmas saints don't generally do mid season sackings and doing so only makes les and co look bad. MoPe will be backed and given time.
-
Why should we have won yesterday? If it wasn't for Forster we'd have been 4-0 by half time. We were utter crap yesterday throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Stoke for the last 10 plus stoppage time doesn't make us a good team harshly beaten.
-
They were crap and suffering a major injury crisis at the back they were for the taking.
-
Just seen Yoshis goal on MoTD **** it we might as well play Maya up front looks more of a striker then any of our strikers
-
People said the same about Puel and the same about Koeman (during the mid winter slump in his second season) neither of them were sacked in Jan and neither will MoPe be.
-
Laughable that you think there is any major difference.
-
Really? everyone was happy to blame Puel for his...

Goal what's that? Football's all about possession stats isn't it...
