  1. I know I read it. He is clearly a confidence player he was on fire before the Injury it basically robbed him of all the momentum his purple patch was giving him. By the time he returned he looked way off the pace. Oddly despite getting rid of Puel our front line has still failed to click or produce in any meaningful way.
  2. We know the players love him but being popular with your players doesn't make you the best manager in the world are you seriously suggesting he is better than Pep for example? Poch is a good manager but in less he adds trophies to that he can't ever be considered one of the best in the world. In sport you can be good but to be truly great you have to win stuff.
  3. Players are slightly different imo but matty will probably never be considered one of the best ( outside of saints fans) because he spent his whole career with us. Allardyce has a reputation as a long ball hoof merchant who can keep teams up. I doubt many would consider him great or a particularly successful manager. He will of course probably be the only ever England manager with a 100% win record..
  4. Came back from injury being the main point totally destroyed Gabbis goal scoring momentum getting injured.
  5. I doubt it isn't the skate staying as their no.2
  6. As a manager trophies are the only measure of success who wants to be remembered as the best manager never to win anything?
  7. Yeah 3-0 at home, in Europe, packed noisy SMS, under the flood lights, Austin and J-rod on the score sheet good memories man good memories
  8. It won't happen because Yoshida won't, quite rightly, get dropped.
  9. Wouldn't be surprised if 90% of that was down to Lemina
  10. A lot of people want to play Boufal in the 10 ( which would be right) so it would most likely be Davis or possibly Tadic that gets dropped rather than Redmond anyway. The obvious replacement for Redmond would be McQueen to my mind.
  11. Fair point but when the rest of the squad have managed one between them I think it shows he has contributed something. Our whole forward line has been pretty disappointing for months so I can't understand why Redmond seems to get singled out as the issue.
  12. I see you missed out this bit when you quoted me (certainly no worse than the rest of the forward line) Give us the stats for Long, Tadic et el as well so we can compare...
  13. What part of Boufal deserves a chance is me advocating starting Redmond ahead if Boufal? Secondly I get furstrated by Redmond as much as any one at games when he runs at people he causes problems but to often he turns back and looks for a safe pass. This myth though that has grown up that he offers nothing is just patent rubbish. He was our top scorer in the league last season and has more assists this season than other saints player ( and if tadic could finish he should have a couple more over the last couple of games) and more than Boufal has managed in 29 games. I'm not suggesting Redmond is a world beater but he is certainly no worse than the rest of forward line. I don't give a crap if he is on the bench while Boufal starts but I do find this constant need for people to try and make out he is a far worse player than he is bizarre and in the respect he is very much in full Guly mode.
  14. I have a sneaky suspicion that managers and fans don't always look for the same things when deciding who gets in a first 11. If Redmond gets picked constantly you can bet the manager feels he has good reason even if we don't agree. The fact that two managers have favoured Redmond over Boufal suggests there is probably more going in terms of training, attitude or ability to follow the managers instructions that we don't get to see. And Redmond's form hasn't even been as bad as people are making out ( certainly no worse than the rest of the forward line). Redmond has reached full Guly de Prado mode now he could score a hatrick and get three assists in a game and still get slagged off for being **** Having said all that imo Boufal has earned a chance at a start to show what he can do for a full 90.
  15. Nobody used to sing before they started with this pre-match music/montage on the big screen this season (which is why the players requested the loud music pre match) People are talking like SMS was Anfield before kick off with 30k saints bang out the songs and chants..when in fact we got one half hearted OWTS before being drowned out by the away fans.
  16. What defend deep and try and play on the counter? If he can get Leicester to replicate the performances we put in against Liverpool in the cup last season but with Vardy and Marhez on the counter (instead of Redmond and Long) he might do quite well.
  17. and what you down load one to your phone so you could moan at younger people about their loud music?
  18. TBF we were more attacking against West Brom on Saturday than we have been recently (though that might have because the WBA players refused to cross the halfway line in any numbers for most of the game) and we should have been at least two goals up before Boufal ever came on the pitch we had several good chances but as usual showed a total lack of ability to actually put it in the net.
  19. I can explain it..... there is no effing atmosphere. Let's not pretend the music is drowning out some sort of fantastic home fan choir before kick off. Most of the blokes that stand in the Itchen north and Northam aren't even in their seats at kick off let alone singing . The only people singing before kick off are the away fans so drowning them out with loud music is a bonus.
  20. I think there is a train of thought among some that Les should have offered Tuchel whatever it took to land him a big wage and lots of money for players.
  21. I guess at the time we approached him he thought he was going to get a few better offers it seems that hasn't happened so he is probably a bit less fussy now ...
  22. Ha Ha having a bad day mate. You've literally read my post and imagined a whole load of stuff you think I mean to get upset about.. The poster I was answering asked if the players were picked by the club despite the manager all I did was list some players that were clearly the choice of previous managers rather than the black box everything else is in your head.....
  23. what do you do take a noise metre with you to games?
  24. I think that was the official club line but our squad has been littered over the seasons with players who were clearly there because of the manager Jonathan Forte, Billy Sharp, Osvaldo, Martinia, Clasie, Pied, Pelle, Eljero Elia probably others I've forgotten.
