  1. errr we forced ourselves to take a worse deal the moment we decided to leave. The rest of Europe are hardly going to lets us cherry pick the bits we want and not bother with the rest..
  2. He is an excellent player who sadly looked like he couldn't be arsed in the second half of the season.
  3. Hopefully they are showing some back bone and putting down a marker that we will actually hold onto our good players this summer.. ..next step is to clear out the average dross in the team that's probably easier said than done though....
  4. I can't stand that buffoon I'm embarrassed that he represents my country in any way.
  5. Have we ever had a player with a release clause Plus can you imagine Tadic gengen pressing.......
  6. Not at all he has five years left on a contract with us he can't go anywhere with out the clubs agreement it does however require saints to show some balls.
  7. According to Cortese...
  8. Funnily enough I'm sure I read an article were Les claims it was him who spotted poch while scouting Philippe Coutinho. I imagine they were probably all there and all taking credit for it...
  9. It looks like May has made the single biggest miscalculation of a situation since Icarus decided to fly his wax wings to close to the sun.
  10. It's ok Les is keeping Puel on the pay roll so if it doesn't work out with a new bloke Puel can just carry on......
  11. Given what May said when she called the election I can't stand how she can stay on as prime minster "I have concluded the only way to guarantee certainty and security for years ahead is to hold this election." She accused Britain's other political parties of "game playing", adding that this risks "our ability to make a success of Brexit and it will cause damaging uncertainty and instability to the country". "So we need a general election and we need one now. We have at this moment a one-off chance to get this done while the European Union agrees its negotiating position and before the detailed talks begin. "I have only recently and reluctantly come to this conclusion. Since I became prime minister I've said there should be no election until 2020, but now I have concluded that the only way to guarantee certainty and security for the years ahead is to hold this election and seek your support for the decisions we must take." In a statement outside Number 10, Mrs May said Labour had threatened to vote against the final Brexit agreement and cited opposition to her plans from the Scottish National Party, the Lib Dems and "unelected" members of the House of Lords. "If we don't hold a general election now, their political game-playing will continue and the negotiations with the European Union will reach their most difficult stage in the run-up to the next scheduled election," she said. Sure the Tories still get to form the next government but considering she completely failed to achieve the aims she set out she should surely be stepping down rather than desperately hanging on?
  12. Best way to punish him is making him see out his whole contract with saints...
  13. I imagine Theresa May has just found out how Pyrrhus of Epirus felt.
  14. Once they own 90% of the club the new owners can do what they like, including going back on promises, and no one can stop them. I'm not saying they will replace a manager, Les or Ralph but they could and that breeds uncertainty because they are an unknown quantity. Anyone looking at joining our club at the moment has no idea how things are going to pan out and that can only making recruiting harder imo.
  15. LVG sounds like the sort of manager new Chinese owners would love..
  16. Yeah but recruitment is harder if you don't know who the owner is going to be. Its pretty common for new owners to bring in a new manager when they take over. So its a much harder sell for Les when he can't guarantee the new guy he won't be replaced a few months down the line or tell any new recruits what the plans of the new owners might be.
  17. First election ever where I didn't want any of them to win and the first I've every voted tactically. Hopefully this means a soft brexit now and the removal of May and her cronies. As a traditional tory supporter who voted Remain this is probably the hardest choice I've ever had to make about were to cast my vote.
  18. Well one the reasons sited for our poor season was player unhappiness maybe a few nights on the town with BT will cheer them all up and make them play better....
  19. He wasn't innocent he avoid prosecution by turning states evidence. The issue for the PL was, I believe, that the rules only covered illegal activity in the UK not abroad under the new rules, voted for yesterday, his corruption and bribery charges would have made him fail the FaPP test.
  20. definite whiff of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted...
  21. No one doubted it we all know how it works these days. I bet your mate didn't then suggest that said interested club fly that player in for a secret meeting with their manager before releasing that info to their mates in the press to announce though...
  22. who is this bloke he looks about 12...
  23. So Ralph voted to block people like Lander buying a PL club.....did he tell Kat?
  24. Disappointing would have liked us to really stick to them I'm guessing most of the smaller PL teams would have to.
