He won't learn much sitting on the bench. It doesn't matter who we have in defence if the midfield don't protect them and they have a disaster of a goal keeper behind them.

The squad is unbalanced we have some good elements but we didn't strengthen midfield properly in the summer. Need better midfielders in the summer especially in the holding role.

Wow this turned into a **** afternoon fast I was expecting to lose this game but Gabbi getting injured is crap we haven't been very lucky with injuries at all this season have we?

Of course we want Europe if we can get it. The same goes for cup runs and cup finals. What we need though is fans that realise that if we are in Europe or go on a good cup run it will more often than not stop us finishing best of the rest. For a club our size fighting on multiple fronts is a tough ask as this season has shown.

I think it just shows how hard it is for clubs our size to compete on several fronts. If we finish between 10-8th having been in Europe and getting to a cup final we have had a decent season.

Who said anything about being a super power the simple fact is there is a much smaller group of talented English players in the top English league than there was in the old 1st Division. The home grown rule was brought in to try and change that (though it hasn't changed much) so its hardly a myth.

England teams have been going down hill for years if anything rather than improving the English national team the PL has eroded it. We don't seem to have any identity as a national side and most star players at PL teams aren't English anymore giving England Mangers a pretty small pool of top English players to choose from.

One thing I've noticed when transfer fees are reported in the press is that no two sources ever seem to give the same transfer fee. Even when two clubs report what they paid/sold a player for they quite often seem to give different fees I guess with bonuses/clauses and sell on fees it is easy to spin what a club sold or bought a player for?
