Saving Clasie for the cup
-
Saints on to do a Leicester?
-
You mean the Koeman who took us to our highest ever PL position last season with the same tactics.....
-
Neatly illustrating why forcing players to stay isn't always the best thing to do.
-
Average in what way are citeh average? even missing some first teamers they are a team loaded with talent.
-
What despite Koeman saying no one will be sold in January.....
-
What of the ladies team....
-
Has had always had that in his game solid most of the time but capable of turning out some **** performances on his day.
-
Best free kick specialist never to score a free kick....
-
Pretty much this Especially after they were humiliated by Liverpool last week a back lash was inevitable.
-
I thought people wanted players rested for the big game against Liverpool? This game was always going to be a loss which people will IMO except if we beat Liverpool in the cup.
-
At my mums house "enjoying" the first of several pre-Christmas family get togethers while trying to sneak a look at the score on my phone

Another article where poch explains his youth philosophy http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/10060961/mauricio-pochettino-explains-the-philosophy-tottenhams-successful-young-players Which errrr sounds very much like the Southampton youth philosophy.... "Different young players are now with us in the squad, training every day and playing with the U21s. It's to give them the confidence and trust, and to feel they are part of the squad."
-
Maybe this is why Poch is doing so well (article is a year old but relevant I think) with youth at Spurs Tottenham academy is now better than Southampton's, claims Mauricio Pochettino http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/11305307/Tottenham-academy-is-now-better-than-Southamptons-claims-Mauricio-Pochettino.html and just for CB fry taken from the article (not my view) Pochettino became used to dipping into the academy during his time in charge of Southampton

This one I reckon. Away from home we need to keep it tight and with no Pelle playing Cedric's crossing ability won't be worth much. I can see us playing like Ireland vs Germany defend like hell and hope a long ball falls kindly for Shane Long to put away on the break.
-
It starts well Personally I think we have a good chance. Pelle is suspended for the visitors and they've lost their last few games to Stoke and others and there was me thinking we'd just come of an unbeaten run
-
I bet Citeh Charlie is on the Man city forums going ape **** about back keepers right now...
-
How many of those were starts? how many of those were for more than the last ten minutes of games? Genuinely I have no idea but while 18 PL appearances sounds impressive if they were 5-10 minute cameos at the end of game it really doesn't prove much.
-
I thought you put that down to Pelle being an immobile lump? Tomorrow we will have Long running all over the place so goals galore....
-
So a high scoring game with neither team able to keep the ball out of their own net.

saw this article today Koeman reveals loan bids turned down http://www.eatsleepsport.com/southampton/koeman-reveals-loan-bids-turned-down-2016675.html#.VlhO24fMXcs main quote for me "We had some enquiries for our younger players but we cannot take that risk as our squad is not that big," he said. that seems to suggest that Koeman will use the academy boys if he has to.
-
One of those "free hit" games really. I don't really expect much and as long as we have a go I won't get to upset about losing to Man city at their place. Mind you given how inconsistent almost every team ( bar Leicester) is this season you never know we might get something.
-
Not off to Real Madrid now? As was being reported in the press a few weeks back. Shame for Leicester that Marhez is off to Man U to......allegedly.
-
.....this was a joke post right?
-
Well clearly not all of them Lambert and Vardy both left it late to blossom not that I'm suggesting Gape is/isn't that good but not every PL player makes it by 21.
