I'm still of the opinion that's because poch's style works better with youngsters who are eager to impress, and happy to do all those extra training sessions and such like, that older experienced pros might not. He was lucky at saints that even our older players were new to the PL and pretty much happy to do anything to stay there. It's interesting to note that Poch struggled with some of the older pros at spurs last season and has culled the spurs squad during the summer down to , or so I read, 15 players he wanted to use (plus some others who couldn't ditch).

Koeman doesn't want incisive passing through the middle. Our whole game is set up to get the ball out wide and bang crosses into the box for the big man to either score or knock down for Mane of Davis to get on to.

Cedric was in the top 10 of Pl tacklers this season, a couple of weeks ago, with this highest percentage of successful tackles completed. He gets forward well and provides decent attacking width he clearly is good enough for the PL. People banging on about Clyne seem to quickly have forgotten how bloody average he was second half of last season. Meanwhile Bertrand has been defensively suspect at times this season to. Bournemouth and stoke both spring to mind but he isn't getting to much stick.

He is a squad player. A utility man that can do a passable job anywhere in midfield when injuries and suspensions hit. The sort of player a manger likes to have in the squad for versatility but that shouldn't be starting unless better players are unavailable. being "one of our own" isn't enough to cover up his deficiencies anymore.

Which is just baffling I know Cedric had one or two dodgy games at the beginning of the season but since then I think he has been excellent certainly no worse than Bertrand.

I think it's pretty simple if Cedric is our first choice (and he is a cracking player so I can't understand why he wouldn't be) and plays all the time then we don't need to sign a new RB. If the manager doesn't feel Cedric is good enough and doesn't want to play Cedric then we need a new RB asap Yoshida (or Martina) would be ok as a once in a blue moon thing but not an every few games thing. The big question for me is what is the problem Koeman has with Cedric?

There is no solution, football is changing, and you can't make people sing if they don't want to. People just need to go to games do what they want to do and stop worrying about being embarrassed about things they have no control over....like other fans not singing.

and you want to play Reed because....err he has come from academy. I don't rate JWP much at all but seeing as he has dozens of PL appearances under different managers to his name and Reed has less than ten you have to assume Reed isn't all that or by now he would be forcing his way into the team which he isn't.

No problem if that's your opinion. I personally don't think Reed has played enough (telling in it's self) for people to claim him as better than JWP (who is frankly bloody average) Reed is starting to become one of those players who gets better by not playing. Honestly, do you not think, if Koeman thought Reed was better than one of our other midfielders he would not play him?

Really? I kind of remember people complaining about pochs tactics and game management at times and Koeman finished higher last season not employing those tactics.

Based on what? I'm not a big fan of JWP but Reed has made a handful of appearances for the first team not sure we can make him out to be better based on that. If he was better than JWP he would be getting into the first team on a regular basis which he isn't.

That has to be one of the most used words on this forum these days. I'm surprised saints fans ever leave their houses the amount of embarrassment they feel on so many subjects regarding the club.

What I don't get is what Koeman's problem with Cedric is? I think Cedric is a great little right back I enjoy watching his overlaps, he is a very capable tackler and does a decent Terry Butcher impression every week. I have no problem with him playing week in and week out at right back. If Cedric is playing regularly then I could handle Yoshida as back up occasionally but this constant dropping of Cedric to play Yoshida baffles me. Generally I think Ronald is a very good manager but this is one area where I just don't get what he is trying to achieve. If Koeman really doesn't rate Cedric (though god knows why) then yeah we need a new right back.

Pretty much as expected really even an injury hit citeh squad is still full of quality.

Utility player as squad cover at best shouldn't start unless we are desperate.

So that's a goal and two assists for De Bruyne can see why Chelsea ditched him. Saints can only dream of having the strength in depth the city squad has.
