  1. Interesting reading the report of last seasons home game again http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25164174 For about 2 minutes Osvaldo actually looked like the signing we all thought he was going to be teams for last time out below Southampton 25 Gazzaniga 22 Chambers 23 Shaw 16 Ward-Prowse 06 Fonte 05 Lovren 20 Lallana (Ramírez - 85' ) 18 Cork 17 Osvaldo (Lambert - 77' ) 08 Davis (Reed - 90' ) 09 Rodriguez Substitutes 03 Yoshida 07 Lambert 10 Ramírez 26 Hooiveld 38 Reed 40 Gallagher 41 Cropper Manchester City 30 Pantilimon 05 Zabaleta 13 Kolarov 25 Fernandinho 04 Kompany 26 Demichelis 07 Milner (Javi García - 62' ) 42 Y Touré (Dzeko - 79' ) 16 Agüero Booked 09 Negredo (Jesús Navas - 62' ) 08 Nasri Booked Substitutes 01 Hart 02 Richards 06 Lescott 10 Dzeko 14 Javi García 15 Jesús Navas 22 Clichy
  2. Wasn't that Cork?
  3. I find it funny that what he writes and then what he predicts don't actual tally very often ...........gives me a giggle anyway
  4. The Weekend starts here Lawro has spoken and not surprisingly he has down for losing this one 0-2................... which doesn't annoy me as much as claiming we will lose to the likes of Hull:) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30172780 Southampton are not just strong defensively, they have got lots of creativity too and a goal threat in the shape of Graziano Pelle.........
  5. Some good news for Liverpool.... Stoke City's plans for Saturday's game at Liverpool have been hit by a virus sweeping the squad. Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, 27 and defender Geoff Cameron, 29, missed training, while full-back Phil Bardsley, 29, was sent home after also feeling ill. "We're struggling at the moment with a little bit of a virus," said manager Mark Hughes. "It started with the Under-21s and we've had to close down their operation really and keep everyone away from the first team. "Unfortunately, there's been a little bit of sickness in the senior squad this morning and two or three players have been sent back home."
  6. Thank god someone gets it. We play a style would make more sense to have a player to fit that style with minimum disruption as back up than change the whole system. Also Pelle needs competition for his spot to keep him on his toes.
  7. The thing is we have four really good centre mids (plus JWP and Reed as back up) you can argue which is the best three combo but the reality is we are probably going to have to rotate them over the coming few weeks with so many games. The argument is Jack Cork is the worst of the three but really does anyone say "oh ****" when they see him name on the team sheet? Any combination of Morgan, Victor, Jack or Steven is a ****ing good midfield. Considering how much running our midfield gets through I'd have no problem with players getting a rest on the bench as long as three of those four players are on the pitch.
  8. I think that's what most of us felt. Long or Mane off the bench could be a game changer Cork not so much.
  9. They're Man city you probably could count on one hand the number of clubs they think are better than them and we certainly won't be one of them. The general feeling from their fans that they just have to turn up to win always makes getting a result against them much more fun and if we lose..............well it's man city isn't it.
  10. Except Jrod plays nothing like Pelle, is injured and unlikely to be back anytime soon, when he is back will probably take a while to get match fit/sharp and doesn't want to sign a new contract so is most likely hoping to leave.........other than that the perfect replacement for Pelle if he gets injured or suspended
  11. What this bit? Tottenham continue to be linked with January transfer window moves for Saints duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez, and will hope Mitchell's arrival can prise both away from St Mary's. Doesn't even make sense what player has moved to a club because he likes the guy who runs the club scouting network?
  12. Interesting BBC article Ronald taking the **** out of spurs http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30226314 "Maybe Spurs felt they couldn't buy our football players so they had to bring in other people," Saints manager Ronald Koeman told BBC Radio Solent. "It's a compliment for Southampton, maybe they need the same structure that we have." Spurs, who have spent £135m in the last 18 months, are currently 10th in the Premier League table and trail leaders Chelsea by 15 points, while Saints lie second. "It will effect everybody as it is an important role at the club," added Koeman. "It's a challenge for Paul, he wanted to move and we have to respect that. Southampton is not dependant on one person; Southampton will march on. "For the last few years Southampton has had a good structure. "There is a strong academy, good young players, a technical director in Les Reed who has the club's long-term interests at heart - that is the quality of the club. "It is a good structure and it is a pleasure to work in that."
  13. I got e-mail from the club yesterday saying there were still tickets left........sadly Sundays clash with Tyro league so I will be watching number 1 son kicking a ball round a muddy field before rushing home to get radio Solent on. Football should be on Saturdays at 3pm or Tuesday evenings anything else is a pain in the arse
  14. didn't they draw with QPR?
  15. Especially when your drawing....... Ludogrets equalize
  16. yeah but think of the days of news coverage we will have to suffer about how Liverpool have turned a corner and are now good again......
  17. Liverpool winning bollix
  18. umm two starts two goals........one in the CL..................he's still got it
  19. Lambert scores in the Champions league ....good for him
  20. whoops how **** have Liverpool become
  21. Plus Aguero being stretched off. Not that I want to see players injured but err..... in this case I might not get to upset
  22. eerrrrrr no. I'd like Rickie to score a hat trick but Liverpool to concede four........
  23. See Lambert is starting in the CL tonight fair play to him..............Lovern and Lallana are on the bench though:lol: Liverpool: Mignolet, Manquillo, Skrtel, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Sterling, Lambert. Subs: Jones, Lovren, Moreno, Coutinho, Can, Borini, Lallana.
  24. On the O/S http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20141126-nathaniel-clyne-pfa-player-of-the-month-nomination-2105185.aspx Saints defender Nathaniel Clyne has been nominated for the November PFA Fans’ Player of the Month Award. The right-back scored the equalising goal in Monday’s draw at Villa Park with his third strike of the season, and has been every minute of every game so far this campaign. Clyne is joined on the six-player shortlist by Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard of Chelsea and Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko. Saints fans can vote for Nathaniel to win the prize by clicking here. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 30th November, with the winner to be announced the following day.
  25. I see Saints old glass man Lee Holmes has gone to Pompey on loan http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30192355 His career has really gone down the ****ter.....
