If the link in #31 is correct it must be contractual? Basically we have first refusal on Toby unless Atletico Madrid change their mind, in which case, they have to pay us 1.5 million in compensation.....I doubt that would be a gentleman's agreement
-
Don't think the club works that way do they? They've made an agreement. If Atletico Madrid try to change the agreement the club will probably walk away already having other good CB choices lined up. I think Saints these days don't take any sh it. This summer proved we won't budge on transfers (in or out) if we don't think we're getting a good deal (just look at the Rojo transfer).
-
I'm sure at the time Toby signed he said the deal was complicated......that would confirm it. Still I guess that fact that Atletico Madrid have to pay us to re-arrange on the 1st to buy clause is a small (very small TBH) crumb of comfort and will still have Gardos.

Are we favourites now in our run of difficult games?

I don't think Ronald does "keeping at bay" I imagine he would much rather go straight for the jugular an early goal for us will build pressure much better than keeping them at bay. -

Was that Radhi Jaidi talking to Morgan after the match? Used to love Jaidi guy was a beast.

I got loads of crap from the Liverpool fans at work, during the summer, with regards to them taking all our best players. Right now I'm giving it back 10 fold and loving it. Smug? you better f ucking believe it:D

Liverpool game defiantly came to soon for us if we played them now I think we'd win comfortably. Spurs are the game that annoys me they have been pretty shocking in every game apart from against us were they played well above their normal level for this season and we had a real off day (and even then a draw would have been a fair result)

Last couple of seasons we've given Citeh a damn good game every time we've met arguably we are a strong team now and they are, perhaps, not as good as before so I don't think we need to fear them. Arsenal away will be hard work their form isn't great but they are still a decent side whose form will pick up. Man U are nothing to fear they have some good attacking talent but their defence is shocking plus Ronald will be well up for that game I think. I reckon 4pts from those three (draw to Citeh, lose to Arsenal, hammer Man U). -
I guess we could take Hugo Lloris as back up for Forster

I really don't think they will.....

Two saints players this week:) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29980979 FORWARD - Shane Long (Southampton) The substitute should have had a hat-trick. Shane Long has always scored goals and I'm not in the least bit surprised he's doing it at Southampton. I'm not entirely sure why West Brom sold him or, come to think of it, Hull either. A must-have player for any squad. DEFENDER - Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) Ryan Bertrand was supplying some wonderful crosses for his Southampton team-mates all afternoon. The on-loan Chelsea full-back seems to have finally found a football club where the manager rates him and he can get regular first-team football. It's clear to me that Bertrand is not going to dislodge Filipe Luis, or more importantly Cesar Azpilicueta, at Chelsea so the quicker he signs permanently for Ronald Koeman at Southampton the better.

looked good yesterday:D.

They really aren't happy with him are they? Lovren has to be in the stands... I don't even want him on the bench... He is worse than some of the defenders I see at my local park... He is worthless!!

Come on Sunderland:D

Mixed feeling about that. I want saints Vs pompey at SMS in the third round.....we still owe them for the 1-4 in the FA cup a few years back
-
What even after Morgan and big Vic have left for Arsenal and Citeh in the summer? Next year our midfield will be Cork, Davis, Reed and JWP plus 1 other that Ronald brings in .....you heard it hear first.
-
We have nothing to fear? Well having just watched MOTD I find myself rather scared of Sergio Agüero;)
-
Is it just me then that thinks Ryan Bertrand, while maybe not having the natural talents of Luke Shaw, seems to be a more effective player for us this season than Shaw was last season. Ryan's attacking play seems far more effective than Shaw's was last season and his defensive qualities don't seem far off Shaw's either.
-
Really don't think I've seen much to suggest that.

No end product;)
