It isn’t the fact we play out from the back so much as rank non existent defending which causes us to leak goals. We do not perform even the basics of defending and this why we concede goals. We score as many as anyone but concede far more than any promotion team should or can if they want to get promoted. Martin is completely clueless with coaching defending and that means he can never be successful and nor can we.

Precisely Egg…. RM has had a terrible defensive record throughout his managerial career and here he is just as terrible which is not good enough. It has been obvious all season and yet he has done nothing to coach the defending at all. We still don’t engage the ball and allow crosses or passes into our box at the will of opposing teams. Coaching of our back four is a disgrace. They never engage and Martin has never addressed this at all…. It just get worse and worse no closing no and no engagement with attackers, it’s so obvious but Martin allows this or actively encourages it… !!!

What is Martin talking about? Did he watch an entirely different match. Says he blames our attack and barely mentions defence! ‘We broke their press’ lol Really dreadful summary of the match..

That’s not true. It was a team that pressed us that caused the issue as has happened many times with Bazuno in goal.

I’ll say it, Walker Peters has been well off and Smallbone has improved us but then Rothwell ……….. RM picking Rothwell really does leave him open to criticism.

Why bother with Rothwell? He is crap and we won’t keep him so he should be nowhere to be seen. Good shot on him but otherwise non existent…

If we were to make a change Danny Rohl has done an amazing job at Wednesday and also we were playing very well under his coaching when he was with us. Very experienced at top level in Germany and here and with something still to prove. Not sure if Moyes is still ambitious enough now and not really very progressive in nature but hey just throwing it out there. RM might yet sort his head out and our defence which would be preferable.

Picking Rothwell kind of sums up why RM is failing along with continually putting AA at centre forward whilst taking Che and Aribo off !!!! Repeatedly! Not forgetting allowing defenders to turn their backs on shots too….

Our defenders always turn their back because A they are coached and B they are fairies and Bednerek is the worst for turning his back on shots. Yet again this is the On the Manager to stamp it out. Turn your back and you are out the team, simple!

Interesting and how do Ipswich comply with that recent historical ‘reasoning’ As for the 99% …….. You might be slightly out on that one too.

This is the most important stat of them all. RM’s weakness is Managing games combined with poor defensive organisation. (Oh and odd personnel choices) This has been a feature of the season and hasn’t changed at all throughout his time here. RM is a coach, however it appears that he is struggling to ‘Manage’ at our level.

Sorry but as I said, a strategy based around having to score three or four every game is just not realistic or achievable. A solid defensive plan is critical to winning over a season.

Well by the same token you cannot expect to have to score three or four times every game, that is not a realistic achievable strategy.

The reason we lost this game and others we have dominated is conceding goals simple. If you don’t concede you don’t lose!
