  1. I am! I am so optimistic again! ... I want to kiss you! SMOOOOCH!!! We're going to be bought out! At last... time to celebrate. But who is the mystery new superhero owner?....
  2. Bet if JP had been permitted to run the team under the same policy as Wotte we would now be outside the relegation zone.... not above half way but outside it. Can't help but think he wasnt good enough but couldve been better than the man we currently have. Decent bloke and as honest as he could be in that interview. Just appeared clueless on the touchline. Still, I agree with him over Wotte.
  3. ... hang on if we stop talking about the 'blame game' what are we going to talk about until the new owner is announced? 1. The Team? Too depressing. 2. The Manager? More depressing. 3. The catering? Done to death. 4. The renewed queues in the concourses for pints and pies? Refreshing progress. 5. The Takeover hopefuls? No info as it is being carefully and professionally played this time unlike the last joke takeover talks, which were destined to go no-where as the will to sell was never really there. 6. Help?!
  4. LOL! I think not SOG... I think we are free from that scenario old chap! Chill dude... enjoy!
  5. Oh I see where you are coming from now! Sorry..understand now. (Although we shouldawait the outcome of Lord Mawhinney's independent review before we can confirm that one.) Lets hope you are right. Mind you be nice to keep Dyer in League 1 if a buyer can come in and tempt him to stay.
  6. lol oops ! I claim typo status!
  7. I agree Gemmel. We know who is to blame. I think when the new owner is announced we'll all forget about the main poor decision-maker and united behind the Club. It's started already if we're honest with increased gates of 10-14000 at SMS each game. When the new owner is announced he or she will be greated with hero status!
  8. Irony?... 'Stop the blame game? But it's not my fault!'
  9. LOL! Which is why Swindon Town turned him down along with SCW a couple of years ago! They'll be hundreds of clubs after Lowe.... not.
  10. I think we'll all get behind the new owner. He or she is on to a total winner when they take over. Noone wants Wilde or Lowe back lol ... that's unity enough for me!
  11. Again Nick, I dont think a Club with x3 significant offers (thus refered to by Fry) can be considered as beggars... but I take your point. We'll end up taking one of the 35 + offers by the summer, thats for sure. Lets hope its at least a match for Coventry's SISU deal. Rather not have a hedgefund (but I suspect we havent as a serious offer)... but anyone who can bring in a class manager and achieve midtable/playoffs with a weak team and minimal finaces cleverly spent will do for me.
  12. Exactly right. That is the incompetence that I hope we'll see highlighted in a book about this era... Southampton FC 'The Lowe Years' . or 'How not to squander millions on failure'.
  13. Again.. the 'pro Lower's' were so much in a minority that what we are now witnessing with Lowe's departure is unity at almost every level less 3-4 posters on here who wish to maintain Lowe's... errrrr.... 'reputation' at a time when the media are viewing this board more often for some... errrrrrrrrr .... strange reason. We have unity now Roswell, because the catalyst that prevented it has been removed. Pro-Lowe posters are either at best delussional or trying to remind us that there may have been others still connected with the club who may have caused as much damage - the latter view I sympathise with and regard as constructive, the former is well... laughable.
  14. Nope. We could have sold the club years ago and avoided the financial disaster that occurred. Even to this day pundits and journalists are wondering what has happened to Southampton's millions. One day I am sure the full extent of this mismanagement will be revealed. Yes not all the blame lies with Lowe but the lions share of it does.. for me 90%. You see its not just bad decision-making its the whole package Lowe brought - lack of confidence in his ability, lack of integrity, arrogance and DISUNITY at boardroom level and in the stands. Lack of confidence in a loser and a failure that finally took a gutsy Barclays bank to seize the moment and do us all a favour. That is graphically illustrated by the dramatic increase in attendence at SMS despite a crap team and manager IMHO.
  15. He deserted along time ago... about the time we discovered the 'faceinahole' or whatever it was called website. Saw the light with Sundance, realised as I did 3 years or so ago now that Lowe was indeed a disaster for SFC and should no longer being tolerated.
  16. Whacko? Its insane. I guess some people are working for his errr reputation (knowing the media will be following this messageboard closer than usual at the moment). I think we need a thread that says : 'journalists please read this' whilst we ask the Club historian, Duncan, to answer their questions over this issue. I think you'll find Lowe features for a sizeable part of the blame. Still hope exists now! Although I do sometimes feel physically sick when I consider that despite hard campaigning Lowe refused to look for a buyer last summer and/or accept the SISU deal along with others... it will go down as the stupidist error of judgement to back a failed plc instead of a team and will lead to our place in League 1 next season as a result. Still, it killed SLH plc and ridded us from Lowe and Wilde forever. We have many buyers in the pot and the chance to rebuild with an average gate since Lowe left rising from 14000 to 27000 already.... mmm .... wonder why?
  17. I think they want us to know the whole picture of the reason for our capitulation. Not just 90% of the reason for it.
  18. LOL , saving all the stay away fans all that hard earnt cash during the start of the credit crunch. Lowe was so forward looking and fan friendly.
  19. I think the lions are stalking, just takes time to pounce... coat returned.
  20. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11969 Follow the links - investment, players and increase attendences were Barclay's criteria.
  21. Its in one of the threads from early last week I think - havent got time to go back and look through at the moment. It outlines a statement from Barclays stating 3 reasons why they insisted on admin - failure to attract investment, failure to sell players and reduce costs and one other which I cant recall.
  22. You may be right... although it seems wrong not to have someone putting Fry under pressure though. Otherwise, administrators would go on forever on those rates of pay!
  23. Completely agree Nick and Frank. July IS however the time to panic... June if you like Nick but it is the bank that pays the administrator fees is it not? Therefore it is in their interests to take the best deal within the next 3-4 weeks. What is unfortunate (speculating here) is that some offers will not be made as they will be looking for a CCC team - yet more damage may have been done by Lowe's refusal to place the club up for sale last summer as a result. I agree Nick, start to worry in June, but panic in July. But you're too pessimistic for me. Buyers have been sniffing at Saints for many years. Personally I remain quite mellow. The fact there are so many offers being made for the club - and some ARE significant - makes me feel quite confident that this will be wound up in the next 3-4 weeks. We need patience... we'll be OK. Also - Franks Cousin, I think the timing was purely down to the first opportunity Barclays could legitimately remove Lowe and Wilde... that happened as soon as the evidence was there from bounced cheques. I am in no doubt that that was the reason for the timing - afterall Administration has been openly discussed since December when Lowe's Youth fallacy was proven as a fraud. I think Barclays purely needed tangible and legitimate evidence to go into administration - Lowe gave it to them and they have not delayed in removing him. Lowe must hate Barclays - also Wilde came out with an uncharateristicly vocal attack on the bank straight after they took their decision. Barclays made the call - the timetable started from there - BUT it is fortunate that we may therefore have an owner by the summer.
  24. They also wanted Lowe and Wilde gone forever?
