2-0 ... hate it when my head gets it right... my heart said 3-0 Saints. We're doooomed. Still we knew that in May last year so most of us have come to terms with it already!

Why are pro-Lowers MORE vociferous now??
SaintRobbie replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
I agree to be honest. But, just enjoying the irony of Lowe being ultimately humiliated and removed by a Bank rather than the others in the boardroom. Come on there has to be something to smile at. Its been 14 years of pain and he's finally sent on his way with a flea in his ear for poor financial acumen... its justice. But, yes, time to welcome the new buyer. ... hurry up though Mr Fry my grin over Lowe's humiliation is starting to ache! -
Absolutely crap. .... celebration considering.

Yeah GB and JP are doing it as a joint venture I hear... and may bring in Paul Gasgoine and Tony Adams to help manage it.

Is there not a Sheffield Radio Station commentating on line? Someone must have a link.

Fry has already said as much by indicating that Lowe should have done something about moving into administration a long time ago. All Lowe has done is worsen the situation in so many ways. edit: .... although I wonder whether Lawrie Mac may well be reinforcing that message with his statement to get a subtle dig in at Lowe? I assume he would have penned it a couple of days ago as Fry was highlighting why he couldnt understand why Lowe had been putting off administration.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4251026.Football_League_says_Saints_will_not_be_deducted_points/?action=complain&cid=7619253 I'm still intruiged by the Derby example. 'He [a Saints rep] said: “Let’s be very clear, if the club goes into administration the club will be deducted 10 points. “But if the holding company goes into administration then they won’t be.” “The league rules are very specific, it has to be the club which goes into administration for points to be deducted. “At the end of the day the Football League applies it’s rules and they specifically state it is the club that has to go into administration before points are deducted.” Derby County provided the precedent which has seen Saints avoid a 10-point deduction for their parent company going into administration. Back in October 2003, when ex-Saints boss George Burley was in charge at Pride Park, the Rams' parent company Derby County PLC were taken into receivership by the Co-op bank with debts of around £30m. But Derby County Football Club, a seperate organisation under the umbrella of the Derby County PLC company, were not taken into administration and had no points deduction. Within minutes of Derby County Ltd going into receivership, a consortium took over from them and that company ceased to exist. ' Although this is interesting: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/samgreen/blog/2009/04/07/football_league_must_deduct_10_points_from_southampton 'Southampton are trying to exploit a loophole, plain and simple. That cannot be allowed. It is argued that clubs should not be punished if their parent company gets into trouble because of its other business interests. Southampton Leisure Holdings does not have any other business interests. It has also been argued that a precedent was set by Derby County, who were not deducted 10 points when their parent company went into administration in 2003. But the 10-point rule did not come into effect until the 2004-05 season, so that route is also closed.'

But the football clubs income is irrelevant in how the business is set up. Didnt West Ham get punished over Tevez et al by Sheffield Utd's successful private prosecution!? (To the tune of £30m?). Perhaps that's what we should watch for if we stay up and say Forest or Barnsley relegate instead?

Agree with that. Although Kelvin Davis may be worth a punt just to keep him in League 1 !!
-
LOL! Well I suppose the team do understand double dutch now...!
-
I agree with that to be honest. Boothroyd or Ince for me (or has he gone to QPR and I missed it!?) Obviously many on here agree with your sentiment re inspirational manager - I do. To be honest I think if you listed every out of work manager who had league experience I'd take almost all of them over Wotte mind. Dont be so disillusioned! Phoenix is rising from the flames mate !
-
We may not need to dream soon.
-
Well I think it would be madness to keep him (with brass knobs on! ). So I refer you back to the point I made earlier about his continued appointment, if nothing else, he creates disunity and division. He has to go. So back to the thread... who would you prefer instead Nick?
-
To be honest Billy any credible buyer now will only have League 1 in mind not CCC. The former is almost a certainty the latter unlikely. Its a balance of risk. In the interests of brevity, the club should be being sold as a League 1 concern by the Administrator... anthing else that happens is a bonus for the investor frankly.

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?

I agree. It was a totally logical call from Barclays. -

Totally plauseable and given the situation a totally spot on request from Crouch. -

I think Club Historian is as close and credible as it gets Nick. Duncan's position is arguably the right one IMHO. But, as in all wars... history is written by the victors. Lowe's inevitable autobiography will be discredited regardless... because like everything he has done at the club, he lost the war when Barclays saw sense. -
I had a problem with NP leaving as he was good and had potential. Not because he was Crouch's (right) choice. Wotte isnt good and has no potential. I think too many fans want him to go and a better man in frankly. One of the biggest reasons really for not keeping him is that all it would do is divide the fans again - some supporting him, most not IMHO. So we'll have disunity all over again regardless...god it'll be like Alps and GB or Dalek and Hoddle all over again! Indeed, the very reason we're having this conversation illustrates that many fans have no confidence in him, some do I admit (only a few though) but I can't help but see him as a potential cause of disunity at a time when a new owner should be seizing the opportunity to bring in a better man as his first priority and uniting the club. Wotte probably knows the writing is on the wall anyway if we're being honest. No, Wotte simply has to go. Keeping us up alone is not a good enough reason for him to stay IMHO, unlike NP who had potential and has proven it at Leicester. This sounds a bit strange from the man who has consistently posted for CONSISTENT MANAGEMENT. But that is something for a next man as I posted at the start of the thread - we need a young, proven hungry MANAGER who is likely to stay for 6 years minimum with whom we can unite behind. Trouble with Wotte? Too divisive, linked to the old failed, losers and simply not very good. Wotte is a dead man walking IMHO. So if I am right, who would you take instead?

errr no.

Wait for the book! It'll be a bloody bestseller, hope the lawyers advise Duncan cleverly so that he can present some historical facts but keep Lowe off his back. Go on Duncan... you know you want to. -

I see where you are coming from. But what demise? I am afraid I do not see this as a demise mate. We're on our way back. Barclays acted decisively. If they were tipped off to watch Lowe like a hawk last month as the cheques may bounce ... fine... but thats a conspiracy theory too far for me. Anyone with a good knowledge of the club - and lets face it the Bank should have the biggest interest in the Club than anyone! - knew it was on the way down under Lowe's plc and his leadership. It's a no-brainer why they ousted him and as I say extremely satisfying for a fan like me who's watched this hairbrained plc gradually erode this club under poor leadership and disunity for too many years - all under the banner of financial prudence (LOL) - to see it finally die in such an embarrassing way for the chief architects of the demise. -

Noted. Thanks. .... you better be writing a book about this!
