  1. You mean it IS going to be Avram Grant ???
  2. Stevie Wonder would have been better than those two
  3. He was. A fact that many on here seem to ignore In passing, Ancellotti of Chelsea makes me laugh, says he's not interested what his players do in private. So, obviously condones screwing around, GBH, murder, etc etc
  4. I agree with what you say I also would have agreed if you were talking about Adkins
  5. So, if Adkins screws up, we don't blame him, just interference from Reed and Cortese ??? Can't go wrong then can he ??
  6. YES, of course, but only if he was "capable" I started off AS AT TODAY, WHAT DO WE NEED ??? IMHO Having Martin O'Neil as Manager would NOT have GUARENTEED Promotion from where we are at the moment Adkins is Streetwise for Div 1, and because of that, for our PRESENT predicament, better suited to get us up IMHO
  7. Allegedly, we already have the best squad in Div 1 So why would anyone have to spend bucketloads ???
  8. As at today, what do we need ?? A Prem Quality Manager ??? NO A Manager to get us out of the CCC and into the Prem ??? NO A Manager to get us out of Division One ??? YES Nigel Adkins will do that Anything else he does after that would be a Bonus
  9. Only a few short weeks ago, the Family AND Cortese stated that they would continue to carry out Markus Leibherrs wishes, ie the Five Year Plan to get us back to the Prem Cortese does not strike me as the sort of person to "walk". He already knows that Pardew's departure has not gone down well without any explanation, yet he still chooses NOT to tell us/anyone anything
  10. OR, Phil Brown as Driver of the Coach
  11. So what you are saying is, whoever comes in will Break up the Team that was Bookies Favorites for Promotion, and start to assemble another Squad ?? I hope Cortese knows that, because it means Division One again NEXT season
  12. Perhaps it is because it is only NEGATIVES that are eminating out of Cortese's Castle Are we supposed to be HAPPY with what is going on ????
  13. What is annoying for me is that we still do not know whether Cortese "removed" Pardew on the spur of the moment, or because a "situation" was forced on him. If it were the latter, then most prople would be more sympathetic to Cortese's predicament, that he had to suddenlt start looking for a new Manager from "scratch" If it were the former, then it would be seen as shooting himself in the foot, by not lining someone up in advance Finally, IF he had his sights on the likes of Martin O'Neil, then, IMHO, that shows his lack of understanding of Football in the UK Quality, successful Prem Managers would NOT step down to Division One. Only Failed Prem Managers would grab at it as a means of kickstarting their careers In our current position, ie Division THREE, I think getting Adkins from the CCC, would be the best we (and Cortese) could hope for, UNLESS of course Cortese ties his hands behind his back by making him answerable (Footballwise) to too many "knowalls" (Cortese included
  14. Or he was put off by Cortese's insistance that the "Manager" is answerable to everyone above Car Parking Attendant (Car Parking Attendants are a law unto themselves .......... just ask Keegan Horses for Courses for me, so Adkins is the right choice........ Proven at this level (THIRD)
  15. ...... And the other one has a light tan ??

    Waigo

At which Cortese has the final say Hence no £1M fee to Reading for Antonio
  17. There is one thing we can be certain of If the Manager cortese appoints does not deliver, then, IMHO, he will be on a ration of Horse Head Soup for months
  18. WHY would two failed Prem Managers want to drop down Two Leagues to manage Saints ??? Oh Yeah ........... They are out of Work And, if they Got Saints up and running again, would they jump ship at the first opportubity, to take the first offer to get back to the Prem Bl**dy right they would ......... So much for "stability" Cortese beware, getting a "High Profile" Man in could come back and bite you
  19. Oh, "needless gamble, another poor decision" So, You know WHY Cortese sacked Pardew then ?? Please tell, because none of us know AND UNTIL WE DO, WE CANNOT FORMULATE A REALISTIC OPINION
  20. I think Cortese may be walking into a Trap If he appoints Brown, Zola, Vialli, or anyone else who have "tasted" Top Level Prem Football, then rest assured, if they start to have success with Saints, they will be off like a shot when another offer comes along If Cortese is expecting "Loyalty" all the way up to the Prem, he's living in cloud cuckoo land. Contracts are ony worth the "get out clause" unfortunately UNTIL we get back to the Prem, we will shed loads of "successful" Managers, one way or the other
  21. That's scupperred that then Cotese insists on secrecy don't forget
  22. I don't think so Logically he is the best suited, but when have Saints ever been logical I don't want Howe, so I guess it will be him
  23. Your "Key" word is POTENTIAL, and we have LOADS BUT, it has to be Channelled in the right direction, by the right type of person At this time, getting a so called "Top" man WITH PREM EXPERIENCE will not work A Manager with proven Division One Experience is needed, TO GET US OUT OF DIVISION ONE The time for a Prem Quality Manager is when we are back in the Prem, and by that time, the Manager that led us back to the Top may have developed into a TOP MANAGER
  24. Yup, he's had shed loads of experience in the Lower Leagues of the UK Viali, Zola, O'Neil FFS They are used to TOP Leagues (You don't buy a Limo if you have to cross a ploughed field)
