  1. He's earning a fair old wedge for doing nothing He's a waste of space and a drain on the rations, and the rations for our Football Team seem to be very meagre at the moment He's a leech who has no intent whatsoever to actually PLAY Football, and he will be claiming his money until his Contract runs down to the last second What a great example to young talent who can't even get near a Club
  2. Not only that He's preventing a Footballer from starting a career with us Makes you laugh, he's worse than useless and yet we can't get rid of, yet we are crying out for replacements for Antonio and Papa, and not getting any Something really is wrong somewhere ???
  3. That would be a logical explanation to the apparent lack of transfer activity Perhaps we should have used the tried and tested method of the World Famous Portsmouth Promisary Bank Draft ?? It saved them well over £140M
  4. That is the "History" that Nigel Adkins has inherited, and that is the scenario that he currently has to work to ONE thing to remember is that Sc*nthorpe, in their PROMOTION Year, LOST their first FOUR Games It's never over until the Fat lady sings
  5. What does seem obvious in everyone's train of thought, is the situation regarding FUNDS What needs to be established is :- ARE the Leibherrs still making Funds available ?? If NOT, then tell us If NOT, then Cortese must Officially announce that the Five Year Plan on PEANUTS is not viable He should also tell us that, come January, all the disallusioned players at St Mary's are going to want away Cortese should then fully understand why Attendances will have dropped allarmingly Circa 22K per home match last season Circa Half that with a struggling Third Division Club IMHO, IF the Funds have dried up, it makes no Business sense at all
  6. I agree What has not been answered is the Reason why no additions were made in the close season, when it wa sobvious to most that we needed to strengthen Was it because No Funds were available, if so, that knocks Cortese's Five Year Plan on the head Was it because of Pardew/Cortese unrest ??? If so, that is a poor excuse, as it still did not detract from the fact that Strengthening WAS neede In short, IF Cortese is serious about Markus's Five Year Plan, then it DOE require Money For Players at regular intervals Whether Cortese appreciates that fact or not, that is how Clubs advance and get Bigger In the Prem, we once achieved "Medium" status IMHO We have now sunk to MINNOWS in the Third Level of UK Football PS I now eagerly await Pandas Nobel Peace Prize Quality Literary response
  7. Thank you for your constructive in depthe response to points raised It must feel great to be such a linguistic genious I will put your answer along with Shakespeare's best
  8. That is the key phrase, and the Key to eventual success We do not know the reason for Pardew's departure, and we either accept Cortese's " I had no choice" or not As CEO, he was acting on behalf of the OWNERS of our Club. That is also Key. The Leibherr Family own the Club, WE don't If that is accepted, then we get back to the "patience" Theme We ALL want stability, both Owner and Supporter. The Owners thought that we would have stability under Pardew, but that was derailed (for reasons not spoken) and the Owners have to start again We have started again with Nigel Adkins, who IMHO, WILL be successful Football wise, IF GIVEN TIME Time is a Successful Manager's most elusive comodity, as few Managers are given enough of it I think most would have to agree, that one of the most successful Managers is Sir Alex Ferguson, but it is interesting to note that early in his caree at Man Utd, he came very close to getting the Boot when things were going against him Man Utd didn't get rid of him, and look at them now IMHO, I would venture to say that if it is purely down to FOOTBALL, then Cortese MUST stick with his Manager for the long haul Cortese is already in the 2nd Year of the Five Year Plan. Nigel Adkins is on one hell of a mission to make up for our terrible start. Adkins is Cortese's Choice ( a good one IMHO ), but Cortese MUST now back him 1000%, and somehow make a bit of Dosh available for New Players The Question is, Can he, and Will he ??
  9. If Cortese is as good a Businessman as people think, then it won't be too hard for him to realise that :- No New signings = Poor Results = Increasingly dropping Attendances = even less Cash Flow Simples !!!!
  10. You mean we have to wait until NA has played Pulis before we have a chance of buying a Footballer ???
  11. We will have to agree to disagree I do not have all the facts to hand, but in essence, we had caught up the -10 and were circa 6 points from the Top Six in the League by Christmass By March we had slipped to circa -15 from the Top Six, So, to me, the argument that we had to make up -10 does not hold water, because we HAD made it up The "Fall off" from a Top Six spot happened AFTER that, and IMHO, the involvement with the Cups DID have a major bearing on our League form I am convinced that Leibherr/Cortese's Main Priority WAS the League, and I am equally convinced that Pardew did NOTfully go along with the Owners wishes Going to Wembley was great, of course it was, but it was at a cost of One Year of the Five Year Plan, thus resulting in another season(at least) in Division One IMHO, quite a few of the currnet Squad have at last realised that fact, and some will want away come January, and THAT will be the real legacy of Pardew s
  12. OK, lets start with Facts then We are currently in the Second year of the Five Year Plan Progress ?? We are currently 22nd of 24. only goal difference keeping us from being bottom Conjecture ??? Right from Pre Pre season, it was the opinion of many Genuine Football Pundits that we needed to either sign or replace Antonio and Papa. We did neither, so we were therefore TWO strikers short from last season It does not look as if any Serious attempt has been made to bring more Quality in, so, a lot of people have come to the conclusion that whoever is in charge has to run with what we have Now me personally do not think that augers well for any serious Promotion push theis season, and if that comes to pass, then that will be the 2nd Year of the Five Year Plan gone down the drain That leaves THREE years left to reach the Prem ???? I don't think so The Leibherr Family are good genuine people, but I honestly do not think they have the same Passion for Saints as Markus obviously did I would venture to suggest that whereas Cortese could agree something over the phone with Markus Leibherr, he has nothing like the same leeway with the Family now
  13. It's not a go at Cortese Perhaps he is working to the original financial strategy of the Five Year Plan IMHO, it is common knowledge that more money was released to Pardew LAST season, on the "understanding" that Pardew put the League as No 1 priority. He didn't, so we are now in the situation of having "overspent" was was forecast for getting out of Div 1 That, IMHO, is not the fault of Cortese, but, as the situation has now changed, ie Pardew gone and Adkins in, I feel the financial situation has to be reviewed I don't think Adkins can do too much with a limited strike force
  14. Cortese has hidden his Purse until the next Financial year. Perhaps Pardew wanted to strengthen, but was told the cupboard was bare ???
  15. I certainly hope so If someone is monitoring this site on behalf of Cortese, please relay the fact that we DO need to strengthen the Squad What happened under Pardew is HISTORY, and Adkins must NOT suffer because he has inherited a disjointed Squad Those "deficiencies" were there long before Pardew left, so now we will find out whether the "Budget" has all been used up until next year If it has, then Cortese MUST accept that our "progress" this season will be limited, to say the least
  16. Is that a fact ??? Then WHY does the Daily Wretched put them across exactly as that, instead of ie, " A few words from Nick Illingsworth, long time Saints attendee, talking on behalf of himself ""
  17. But NOT in the eyes of the Daily Wretched, who put them acrossas speaking for US That is what is completely wrong IMHO
  18. THAT is the stark reality He IS as good as he is going to get F*ckin useless !!!!!
  19. I have seen him play, or rather, I have seen him go on the pitch and do a great job in being absolutely nowhere near where the ball was at any given time IMHO, the best thing about him being on the bench Saturday was the simple fact he stayed there The Best contract that Tony Pulis Snr ever negotiated
  20. I CARE When SISA The Trust, or anyone else puporting, ( through a local paper that has an axe to grind ),to speak on behalf of me and thousands more, to Demand that the Leibherr Family issue what would be, a staement of intent re Saints, then yes I CARE If they have any sense at all, they would acknowledge that the Leibherr Family have ALREADY stated quite clearly that they will continue to implement Markus Leibherr's Five Year Plan SISA/The Trust ie Richard Chorley, Nick Illingsworth, or whoever, should shut their stupid mouths I hesitate to suggest what thier motive is, but it is certainly NOT in the best interests of The Club If The Leibherr Family and Nicola Cortese were to take their "demand" seriously, then that would mean that a pitiful FEW carry sway over the wishes of the MANY That cannot be right The Echo are a disgrace to "imply" that SISA and The Trust speak for well over 95% of Saints Fans An obvious example of Kr*p, biased, one side journalism No wonder the Daily Wretched is printed on re-cycled paper, though I doubt if they even bother to recycle it these days
  21. Alas, there is so much to emphasise ...... as opposed to empathise
  22. SSHHH !!!! It is my way of emphasising something Perhaps the slant button is better ???
  23. or, dear danny, any reponse to my post ???
  24. But I am NOT, I am describing the Echo, and my response was re SISA representing MY views I'm not on about Cortese What I am on about is the Echo giving space to SISA, and, by inference, making them out to be speaking on MY behalf They DON't, but , thanks to the Echo, they are come across as such, they are deliberately witholding the fact that SISA are SMALL, and do not speak for the Majority of Saints Fans. That, IMHO, it is a DELIBERATE ploy by the Echo IMHO, THAT is not rational journalism, THAT vindictive journalism
