I think it's the same week as his hernia op
-
You are assuming that he would want to come back IMHO he doesn't, he wants CCC Football With Millwall he's got it
-
ONLY if they get over the attitude that all they have to do is run out on the pitch Promotion is not a "given" It has to be EARNED Pass THAT little fact on to our wonderful Squad
-
He sure did What bugs me with ANY player is that they always take 100% of their "hard earned" Salary's, IRRESPECTIVE of whether they give a Toss about the Club, or whether they give far less than 100% in effort on the pitch It is wrong that petulant attitudes such as that of Puncheon can still work in his favour, without any penalty levied against him for his "dosn't give a Toss" attitude
-
Do you mean Leeds when Clough was only there for a few weeks ?? or Leeds last year when they told Beckford to help get them Promoted, THEN he could go ?? As regards players "toeing the line" ??? So you'd be happy to keep paying Full Whack to a player for a less than enthusiastic response ??? Players are Professionals and get Mega Professional Salary's, and as such, their Professionalism should mean they give 100% for the duration of their Contract Letting them leave "on loan" is simply giving in to them As my earlier Post implied, that could open Floodgates
-
I am against any Player manipulating a situation whereby he can wangle a move just because he does not like the League he is currently in THEY ARE BOUGHT TO PLAY THE BEST FOOTBALL THEY CAN, not Sulk Unfortunately, it would seem I cannot win this debate because Players Contracts are now not worth the paper they are written on these days Can you imagine Brian Clough putting up with that sort of attitude ?? No way, the player would very soon be brought into line ie " You play to earn your corn lad, or you get no corn " Our own Lawrie McMeney took no lip from Mark Wright when he was out of line, he sent him to play in the Third Team as I recall
-
So, we have got rid of Puncheon, IMHO because he was not interested in helping us get out of Division Three You are therefore happy then if, like Puncheon, the likes of Fonte, Lambert and Schneiderli adopt the same attitude, and also get shipped out ??? ( Don't try to tell me they are any more happier than Puncheon in being in Division Three ) If it happens, it would leave us even more threadbare than we already are don't you think ??? Mass Replacements in January ??? Don't hold your breath
-
At first sight, yes, I agree But think about it Anyone NOT happy to be in Saints Division Three Team could now be a "pretender", and be shipped out, just like Puncheon That could be a Good way to get back to the CCC for some I think NA better think it through again
-
IMHO, Puncheon wanted OUT, and has got a nice move to a CCC Team, the level at which Puncheon himself thinks he is worthy of Now, if Lambert, Schneiderlin, and Fonte think it through, Puncheon's way is a good way of getting to a HIGHER level of Football Simples (Something still aint right at St Mary's)

The entirely speculative 'replacements for Puncheon' thread

Yes I know what you mean, it completely destroyed Alan Ball, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, to mention but Three When you are young, even at Park level, you never STOP playing -

Puncheon IS better It's just that he does not, nor ever did, like it this far South. PLUS, he wants a better standard of Football Saints standard of Football is Division Three, no more, no less Millwall's is Championship, currently ONE DIVISION Higher -
Very very true Some people on here seem to think that because they play for Saints, they love playing in the Third Tier of UK Football Well people, breaking news ... THEY DON'T, and are making it painfully obvious One in particular, ie Lambert, thinks he is still CCC Class Think again Ricky, because you are nowhere near it any more Remedy ?? As with any Club, get rid of the Wasters, you cannot progress with Drains on the Rations
-
IMHO, Puncheon has made it pretty obvious for quite a while that he did NOT want to play for Saints, especially now that we are still in Division Three By moving to Millwall, he has gone to a (currently) better Club, in a higher Division For all those "Saints are a much better Club"" Brigade ... NO, we are not We are currently in Division Three, with no God Given Right to be any higher Promotion has to be earned, and I fear that with (still) so much unrest at St Mary's, we have a long long way to go before you can view Saints as Promotion candidates
-
A telling example that there is still unrest at St Mary's IMHO, he has not been happy for a long time, and one of MANY who thought we would be in the CCC this season Not "football" I know, but I lost all respect for him when he turned up at Markus's Service at St Mary's Church in jeans (nothing wrong with jeans, but NOT at a Rememberance Service) Just watch him perform for Millwall

SMS IS a good Stadium, with one major drawback IMHO GETTING THERE With just a Footbridge over the Railway line, or a wander through the back streets from the Parks area, the Location leaves a lot to be desired Stoneham was and still is the Best Site for a modern 21st Century Stadium

Apart from the JPT Trophy of course

Compared to the Importance Cortese puts on gaining PROMOTION thi season, I expect he was, by his absence, demonstrating what Importance he puts on the F.A Cup He is 100% right, the ONLY important thing this season is PROMOTION

That is the pleasing aspect about it, the fact we got 3 points yet did not play too well, as opposed to what you have said The sort of thing that Hansen anf Lawrenson go on about, "grinding out a victory without playing well" Let's hope we can go on from strength to strength, starting tonight V's a potential Banana Skin
-
It is all down to opinions Mine is that we were NOT playing well, and were one goal down. The sending off certainly changed the game Big Time IMHO Before you ask, yes, I am a Saints fan, and I think that watching Saints for over Fifty years does allow me to form a credible opinion of a game Blind Faith is one thing, Reality is another A very welcome Victory, but it COULD have turned out differently, had County retained Eleven players (My opinion, no more, no less)

I agree I still think we lack another recognised striker, or, at the very least, someone who can come on and be unpredictable, ie Waigo or Antonio Waigo especially, No One in the ground ever knew what he was going to do, but he was certainly effective, and different
