  1. You mean the Team that was Lifeless, tactically clueless, and playing Hoofball from the 46th minute omwards ?? Yes, Pardew had certainly brought us forward and made us a Force to be reckoned with in Div 1
  2. But Pardew has the same as us EYES to see with My point was that Pardew was obviously quite happy with how HIS Team were playing, otherwise he would have Changed it Are you saying that the Coaches are the ones that dictate Match Day style and tactics on the pitch ? and that the Manager just "goes along with it " ??? No point in having a Manager then is there ??? Just let the Coaches stand on the touchline
  3. And of course Pardew had no control over HIS Coaching Staff did he ????? Pardew, as Manager, instructed the Team what style to play. If he didn't, then he was not Managing the Team It has to be noted, that the change in style of play in the short space of time NA has been here, is little short of dramatic As has been said before, Pardew DID have the best Squad of FOOTBALLERS at his disposal, yet all he did was to stand around and watch HIS Team play Hoofball from 45 minutes onwards Now, the SAME set of players are playing Good Football, and the team is beginni9ng to gel and get results For whatever reason, Pardew lost interest in Saints, AND it showed IMHO, he had reached the level of his own incompetance
  4. Forget the confidence bit. I expect he's still laughing at getting his THIRD year at St Mary's
  5. Especially with the overabundance of STRIKERS who have scored Massively for us so far this season
  6. Every player that wants away from his Club is under Contract, and it is normally at such times you find out exactly how Non Binding they really are. If a player wants away, they will get away, and the Contract is then only worth "Get out" clause I'd love it if a Chairman/Manager insisted that a Player Honour the Contract he so readily SIGNED originally, but I expect that would infringe his Europeon Human Rights or some other twaddle
  7. I am not in any way against the (re) arrival of Chaplow, indeed I was a fan of his when he was here before But, I cannot believe I am the only one on here, that thinks that come January, the likes of Lallana and/or Scneiderlin ar going to want to get a higher level of Football Everyone on here either can't or won't accept the fact that the decent players we do have are not blindly content to carry on in Division One We WERE a Prem Club, then We WERE a CCC Club, now We ARE a Division One Club, currently the wrong end of the Table
  8. Remind me of that in the January window Too many people on here still think we are a BIG Club We are NOT WE are a Club with BIG POTENTIAL, but (unfortunately) STILL IN DIVISION 1 The Third tier of UK Football That's not Mad Logic, that is Fact
  9. Yes I do realise it is for an initial ONE MONTH But, WHY get him in the first place ??? To show him the City ?? To take him to the Mayflower ??? NO, IMHO, to see if HCDAJFU And if he does ok, are they likely to pat him on the back and send him back ??? Not IMHO. So, we will then have another Midfielder won't we, and we can't play all 28 Midfielders we have can we ??? So, IMHO, it paves the way for some of them to leave in January, ie Lallana and Scneiderlin, as they are the Two most like ly to want to GET IN A HIGHER LEAGUE than Division Three
  10. On the face of it, a good aquisition, but makes me ask the question Who is leaving in January ??? Lallana ??? Scneiderlin ??? Or BOTH ??? Methinks SFC are starting to "Cut the suit to fit the cloth "
  11. Still, at least they had Kelvin's great save from the last kick
  12. Woops, I only read the Lets B Avenue post
  13. Was that when Shankley labelled Saints as playing " Alehouse Football " ????
  14. We all hope not My point of view is this Many have said that Leibherr/Cortese do not take any notice of Forums such as this, but, I am sure that the Forum is monitored on behalf of the Club At the time of Markus's passing, Our Club and Our Supporters showed exactly how much we had thought of him in his short time with us, and it was stated by Cortese that the Leibherr's had been deeply moved by our response to their Father's death OK, now if they were aware of that, then, at a different level, they will equally be aware of the gossip/unrest/rumour/speculation that has appeared on here. It is that side of things that I am not happy about Cortese keeps things very much close to his chest. He does not issue up to date statements every day of the week. It is THAT apparent "silence" that is against the British psyche Rightly or wrongly, in the UK, we are used to being "briefed" regularly, Well, it aint gonna happen with our present owners. That is not how they do things It doesn't bother me, but to some, if there is silence for 24 hours, then something must be afoot, and out come to 1000 rumours etc What SHOULD be foremost in everybody's mind is Saturday, Hillsboro, 3pm COYR
  15. Of course they could be a lot better But they could also be a Great Deal Worse if The Leibherrs walk
  16. And yet another well reasoned rational Response to the thread
  17. why ?
  18. I agree with all that, but I would contend that FACTS are Reality, Rumours and Speculation are Not If I get FACTS wrong then yes, perhaps I need a reality check, but not for reading what others put on here which are simply Rumour and Speculation, born simply from the fact that little info is issued from St Mary's these days In the UK, we are good at stirring up the Sh*t when there are no real Facts or real News available
  19. I need a reality check ??? Now that really is funny I would have thought that all the scaremongers with RUMOURS and SPECULATION are the ones who need a reality check Reality means dealing in FACTS IMHO
  20. How exactly ??? Certainly not in the Football League Going bust means exactly that. You lose everything
  21. A Press statement ??? OK, I didn't realise it was a Press statement. It must be true then "pretty stupid actions" In YOU opinion, but it does NOT make them illogical. Whether you like it or not, or agree with it or not, it was Leibherrs stated policy very early on that SFC would be run as a Business, a profitable Business I don't agree with all that has been done either, but by the same token, I'm glad we still have a CLUB not in debt to support
  22. No, that is NOT the British Disease But you seem to ignore a major thing. The REASON why Pardew was "removed" Do you know what that was ??? NO, no-one does, but it must have been serious enough for Cortese to do it WITHOUT having anyone lined up Whatever you may think of Cortese, that act would have been out of character to a very Logical Businessman You may think whatever you wish, but are you in a position to swear it on the Bible ??? NO, no-one can. For example, what about the much touted "rumour" that Pardew had applied for the West Ham job ??? Get your head around the fact that we DON'T OWN Southampto Football Club, the Leibherr Family does, and Cortese is the appointed CEO Does YOUR Boss do things sometimes that you do not agree with ?? Do you write to him to brand him a Dictator ??? You are wrong in likening calling Cortese to a Dictator, but that is certainly the sort of language that would, over a period of time P*SS anyone off. Big Time NOW is the time for UNITY, for the SAINTS Nothing else matters at present
  23. Us British are World Champions at ONE thing Getting a Good thing and Ripping it to shreds We now have a wave of Kr*p doing the rounds about Southampton Football Club, and Nicola Cortese in particular May I respectfully remind everyone of something ?? Friday 20th August 2010. Statement From Nicola Cortese, posted on the OS, and copied elsewhere READ IT, and then READ IT AGAIN Does it not convey the message that things WILL continue as before, in line with Wishes of Markus Leibherr ????? My message to everybody is very simple If you want what we now have to be destroyed, then just carry on with all the stupid Speculation, because over a period of time, that is EXACTLY what you will achieve I Believed Markus Leibherr I Believe Nicola Cortese I Believe in Southampton Football Club DON'T RUIN IT WITH THE BRITISN DISEASE
  24. Apart from getting NEW BLOOD in Perhaps Cortese should at least let us Supporters know that all the money allocated to getting us out of Division Thrre has been used up ahead of schedule IMHO, That is what I think has happened No matter how good Adkins is, he can't put a winning Team together without recognised SCORERS that are FIT If the purse strings have been drawn tight, then the CEO must realise that Promotion is unattainable with the disjointed Squad we now have, ????
  25. So you reckon all the hype ( by Cortese ) about the Leibherr Family going to honour Markus Leibherrs 5 Year Plan is a load of Bullsh*t then ????
