  1. I think it very likely they'll go to the Belgium league before their window closes on the 6th. I wouldn't be surprised by Saudi money being dangled for Sully either.
  2. Thank God for that strong bench.
  3. I think there'd have been interest in Bednarek as well, possibly AA and SA too.
  4. Yep...I shouldn't have. I'll contribute no more, and instead enjoy our drubbing (🤞)of Sunderland.
  5. Oh grow up SoG. There's a game on. We've had a cracking window. And yep, yesterday's thread was really good throughout. One noticeable part of it was your absence. In your own unique way though, up you pop, having a pop, and then later you'll be whining that people are mean to you.
  6. Everton's team today looks dreadful, and they could only find 7 subs, 2 of them being keepers.
  7. Yeah, it was light hearted and I think most took it in the spirit it was intended. Also, the tone of this thread yesterday was decent throughout without any sniping or other nonsense. Spose it helps when the team's doing well in and off the pitch.
  8. I think Stu will play as the 10. Wouldn't surprise me to see that front 3 being quite fluid, including using Mara to come in from the right.
  9. That could explain the delay, and why he described the day as tiring. I'd assumed he meant mentally, but if he'd a day of tests and being prodded about, that would explain it. Regardless, sometimes you've got to take a leap of faith and everything I've seen and read about this lad tells me that, even with an injury, he's much less of a gamble than many of our recent signings.
  10. Curious that we had a crack at that winger from Villa late in the window thou. Not sure whether someone was/is expected to leave.
  11. Not sure why patience is needed of he's passed his medical and we've sorted terms with Sunderland and the player. Bit odd this.
  12. Yep, but it's pointless keeping someone who doesn't want to be here, and nobody will buy him with his injury issues. A loan somewhere where he'll play helps us sell him next year.
  13. No slamming of windows in France, more the gentle closing of little wooden shutters. No idea what time that happens though.
  14. Yep. If Sully now goes and we don't get another wide man in, I guess that brings Djenepo back into the fold. Not ideal.
  15. Yep. I suspect the club had written off Sully staying so were looking for a wide man to essentially replace him and Tella. With Sully staying, and assuming he's committed, I'd imagine that he's the Tella "replacement".
  16. Jesus. That's another level of obscene. The thing is, on sport so far, the Saudis have shown that if they want something, they'll buy it. Golf, Boxing, now top footballers. No FFP, and an out of kilter transfer window, makes a mockery of what we and Europe do.
  17. True, but they had last season to do that and did the square root of feck all between them.
  18. Depends how committed these lads will be. Personally I'd prefer a committed Roberts to a sulking Sully, an onboard Wood to a CBA ABK, and to see Aribo, Djenepo, McCarthy & Onuachu anywhere but here and off our wage bill.
  19. It's a great bit of business, and I can only assume it was delayed while he negotiated his extension and chunk of cash for signing it. It's a proper win/win for us, City, and the lad.
  20. I'm still fascinated by people being fascinated by how much we spend. Who gives a monkeys - it's all about having a decent squad to have a crack at promotion, and then not being stuck with inadequate players when we're back to the land of milk, honey and weekly defeats.
  21. I'll slowly walk away from this subject!!
  22. Hmmmm...I forgot Lee Molyneux. He was a shocker though, and barely qualified as a footballer.
  23. Absolutely - no player goes from a PL reserve to a championship reserve. Throughout the window I've said that KWP or Tino will stay, but instinct says that he'll go today. Weirdly I think Man Utd will take him.
  24. I think you're in a minority here. We got good money for Tino and JWP. I'm not interested in rumours of what we apparently wanted, or what people on here think he's worth. The ABK departure is bloody obvious. Ditto Che. We won't let his contract run down to give him away next year, nobody will pay us what we want in the way that we want to be paid, he won't commit to a new deal and stay here playing, and why on earth would we sign him up to potentially be stuck with him when we're in the PL?
  25. ABK I'd imagine....loan him out and sell next summer, and loan in THB who we buy next summer. Good business, especially as we're not committed to buying THB if we don't go up, and still have ABK at our disposal.
