Hmm. Seems odd, but I take your point. Regardless, some people sadly suffer side effects to some medication, but that doesn't detract from the overall benefits. I'm in no doubt that the vaccines saved me from COVID being a hell of a lot worse on the occasions that I had it.

So what's the point you make about what you see as the link between the newly mentioned strain and the booster? To my mind there's absolutely no issue with the public being alerted to the new strain, and vulnerable people getting a booster if they want one. What am I missing?

I'm sorry to hear that, sounds awful. Is it possible that your issues stem from COVID, rather than the vaccine?

The mind boggles how these people link a vaccine to all the other nonsense he's babbling on about. I pushed my kids forwards for the MMR vaccine but strangely enough these fools weren't banging on about this other rubbish then. As for digital currency, it's like they've never heard of Bitcoin etc.

I've never met anyone who has become very unwell from having the vaccine, but I've met a lot of people who have not had the vaccine and become very unwell. How do you explain that?

I suspect that's untrue, or you're very sheltered. I know people who've developed diabetes from COVID, arthritis type conditions, lung conditions and heart issues from COVID. They regret not having had a jab available. I also know of someone who died. I suspect he'd regret it. His family definitely do. Out of interest, why do the people who've had the jab regret it? Was it the cough and tiredness they lasted a day or two?
  8. As you say, var was introduced to clear up clear and obvious errors. With offside it's about getting the correct decision, and the good old days of giving the benefit of doubt to the attacker has gone. If it was used to get to the correct decision on all occasions that would at least make its use consistent. On offside, personally I'd like a rule that the presumption is a goal unless it's clear within a minute of var being called in that it definitely isn't. If you've got to get red lines out and make the screen look like a scene from Tron, it gets daft and kills the game. In the rugby last night the Fiji lad went over for a try and the issue was did he ground the ball. In that situation the ref didn't have to see the ball touch down, the presumption was in his favour. The decision was quick (although wrong imo) but the flow of the game wasn't lost.

Cheers MLT! COVID has strains and variations in the way that flu does. There'll be seasonal boosters as per flu. It's hilarious how some people think that the government get something out of an expensive vaccine program. I wasn't gonna have the booster but I know of people who've been quite poorly recently so may treat myself.
  10. Well done CB. I hope it was a decent trophy. Can you reprise your acceptance speech?
  11. Yep. Antagonistic. Unnecessary. Daft.
  12. It needs putting out if it's misery. I think we all know what people think of people. If the mods deem that a post on a proper thread needs removing, just delete it rather than sticking it on here like they did with SoG's daft post on the transfer thread the other day.
  13. Renegade... reckless...naive...stupid...8 players upfield against Sunderland for their first goal, with Edozie as one of the 2 back, ain't clever on any assessment.
  14. Isn't it? I've seen a proper mixed bag. I've seen possession with no end product, possession with goals, possession with the ball given away needlessly, being picked off when we're committing when forward without proper cover, players not running back, embarrassing defeats to Gillingham and Sunderland. Not sure what you're seeing mate.
  15. I take your point, but I understand the thrust of Whitey's point. Citing shots on goal as evidence of exciting play proves nowt. 40 passes in no man's land that results in a shot from 25 yards that lands in row Z is less exciting than a ball from the full back into the channel to a forward which ends up testing the keeper.
  16. That statement had nothing to do with one defeat. Bosses need to be bosses. Nothing controversial with that, surely. RM has mentioned a lack of running from the players, and we've all seen it. If they ain't trying so early, that's a real issue, and it needs tough man management. So far RM hasn't impressed me as a coach. The lack of yards from some players, their inability to follow instructions, their poor discipline (shit loads of yellows) tells me that his management ability is being tested. I repeat, again, let's see if he can turn it around. I haven't written him off, far from it, but warning signs are there.
  17. Behave. There's no "all this". Anyone who's watched us and has even a vague understanding of football will have seen problems. As I've said though, I hope that RM has enough about him to turn it around. Let's see.
  18. Yep. The tactics were naive at best, but in reality they were bloody daft and we are easy to play against and pick off. My concern goes further than the shape of the team. RM seems uber relaxed and pally with his players, but that can be a dangerous thing....he's the boss, not their mate. Let's see if we see a better shape next time, and more effort/discipline. As you say, he's got a great squad, but you can give a shit chef the best ingredients but you'll end up with a shit meal.
  19. There was nothing wrong with being concerned before he got here, and then being concerned after Saturday/Gillingham. Frankly, I think it's madness not to be concerned, but let's hope that he's got enough about him to change the lack of discipline (effort, doing as instructed, avoiding yellows) on the pitch, the completely imbalanced shape of the team, and the renegade tactics.
  20. Thanks, glad you liked them. I thought your cowboy boys and cargo shorts combo looked surprisingly decent as well. The 16 naan breads between 5 was a bit much though.

  22. Yep, it's the work ethic that's lacking. SA too just ambles back. If we had a team of players with AA's work ethic and attitude we'd be a hell of a lot better off.
  23. And pretty soul destroying knowing that you're not going to play.
  24. Extending Djenepo's contract was daft, ditto signing Tall Paul, but appointing Jones to try to steer us to PL safety was a level of stupidity I doubt we'll ever see again.
  25. I'd be ok with that, but Alcaraz has been really disappointing this season so I'd have AA behind Adams, and Sully (if he's here and committed) wide right instead.
