  1. Our posts crossed! Newcastle would be a great move for him. Champions league, playing in a time not fighting at the bottom, etc. I could see a squad role at lots of clubs, but he's a workhorse and if hate to see him go and do a Kalvin Phillips somewhere. The Newcastle fans would love him.
  2. True. For some reason I keep thinking of him upgrading from us as a premier league club and need to remind myself that any premier league club is an upgrade! If he's gonna uproot his family, I hope he does it properly and goes for the monster wages, signing on fee and champions league football he'll get at Newcastle. I'd be disappointed for him if he ended up at Palace or Brentford.
  3. I'll ask again. Who's buying him and playing him regularly? I can't see beyond West Ham, or Newcastle at a push. I suspect he'd take either, but if they don't come knocking, where's he going and being a starter?
  4. West Ham? Newcastle?

  6. The starting point is a premier league willing to pay what we want who'll play him regularly. Other than West Ham after rice leaves, who would that be? If there's no buyer, there's no persuading to be done.
  7. But you surely wouldn't rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0?! Seriously though, I hope the guy does well. He's young, knows the league, and despite my concerns about the defence of his teams, I'd rather see decent football with goals than a pressing game without them. Hopefully he'll get the players and back room that he needs so he can work in the way that he wants.

  10. Yep... poor defending, including giving the ball away in dangerous areas, has led to them conceding the 5th most goals. Is keeping the ball near your own box, losing it time after time, and losing goals as a result, purposeful possession or pointless/dangerous. You can't just focus on the goals scored. That doesn't lead to wins or promotion.
  11. That's one way of looking at it. To win games you need to score goals. To do that possession needs to have, at some point, an attacking element, but knocking the ball around in your own half relentlessly is very much possession for possession sake. Possession with pace, movement and purpose in an attacking sense, and not losing the ball and conceding daft goals, is what makes possession based teams successful.
  12. What do you base that on? They have a better squad than us.
  13. Yep. £20k a week is a hell of a pay cut, but still gives him £1m pre tax for a years work. Personally I'd keep for a year on sensible wages. We'll need some maturity in the changing room if the likes of Stu, JWP, KWP, Bednarek, Ely, McCarthy, etc, move on.
  14. That's wrong. I haven't got the screen print to hand, but Rasmus has a shareholding in one or both companies. Dragan does not own 100% of the shareholding.

  16. All this disappointment about Everton staying up. I hate them, but I'd rather not have them in our league next season.
  17. Yep, but no need to tell him before our last game imo. I'd imagine it'll happen asap afterwards.

  19. The bloke is deluded if he hasn't worked out that his work is done and that the club will be working on his replacement behind the scenes.

  21. And a shareholder. Rasmus isn't going anywhere.
  22. Don't be silly. He'll get a pay rise.
  23. That we do agree on, but it doesn't alter the fact that Gibbs-white was a great bit of business by Forest and helped them stay up. Ultimately we were undone by going for quantity over quality, potential over proven, and just trying to be too clever.
  24. And they've sealed premier league safety in that time with Gibbs White being very influential. Seems like £40m well spent to me.
