  1. There's no pedantry SoG. You exaggerated the facts. The child sadly died of asthma. The air was "a" contributing factor on her death, not "the" reason that she died. Misrepresenting the facts to support your argument that this additional road tax is ok is pretty distasteful to be honest. You got it wrong, just accept it and stop digging, please.

No bed wetting petal, just me not buying a bad tummy story.

That's it, the bacterial non contagious one that you think will spread around Staplewood like wild fire if Downes sees a doctor for his medical.

Oh the transfer may happen, my point is that I don't believe bad tummy is the reasons for the delay. If it happens, I suspect it's because time was needed to iron out some financial or contractual issue. And yes, neither of us know the truth.

Thought it was supposed to be 'food poisoning'? Seems to have mutated.

Spin is part of the publicity side of the game. I can't believe that anyone thinks that a transfer failed to complete because a player had a bad tummy.
  7. A 'Mob' is not one man. Agreed on the important part of your post.
  8. Should have just posted that on the chorus thread mate...it'll be moved quicker than you say that Parkinson was a legend of our lifetime.

Nope. Even if he was a bit poorly, the medical and signing could have been done.
  10. You jest, but there's a hell of a player in there. Bit of a comedown from Lavia and Caceido though.

  12. Yeah, I mean every penny will be for new players 🤦‍♂️

  14. Last season he didn't play throughout his loan, and was benched towards the end.

That's one man's opinion. People had shit opinions before twitter. I don't read nonsense like that as I don't look for it...that stuff is avoidable if you don't go looking for it.
  16. Medication (usually steroid inhaler) that reduces the inflammation (redness and swelling) in the airways that can contribute to asthma symptoms. Asthmatics should check their lung and airways performance with a peak flow meter, and have regular reviews to ensure they are controlled. My GP is brilliant - sends me texts periodically to ask how often I'm using a reliever (to help when breathing not as it should be/asthma not fully controlled) and other stuff. If he doesn't like what I say, then the asthma nurse is on the blower to remind me that I could die if I don't medicate as I should, and report issues to have meds adjusted. Asthma can be bloody serious (we've lost a family friend to it), but it can be controlled.

  18. The poor kids asthma is what killed her. The air was contributing factor. However, many things are triggers for asthmatics, the key thing is to use the correct preventive medication to avoid those triggers making the asthma problematic. When I've let up on my preventers I've been reminded that asthmatics with controlled asthma do not die. Obviously I don't know the details around this tragic case, but the underlying cause was her asthma.
  19. I'd like to see the coroner's findings in full before having an opinion on this. I've been acutely asthmatic since childhood. When I've suffered with my asthma there's always been a trigger, but there's never been an occasion that I've suffered when my asthma has been controlled...that part is down to me. Was this child's asthma controlled? If not, it should have been. Why was she subject to "excessive " levels of pollution? Could it have been kept out of the home? Could she have spent more time away from the pollution? Could her death have been avoided, despite what's in the air?

  21. He seems to know stuff - unfortunately on this occasion.
  22. If Lavia stays at Chelsea for 5 years, he'll be sold at his peak, with another sale beyond that as well. Who knows how mental transfer fees will be by that point. Chelsea will make money out of him unless his career nosedives for some reason.
  23. Thanks. I did not expect Moussa and Aribo to be 3rd and 1st.
  24. In this era of £100m + transfer fees, and the Saudi money, I doubt that these lads see Chelsea or Newcastle as their final destination. Indeed, for youngsters like Tino and Lavia, there will be undoubtedly be moves for them. If we sell Lavia to Chelsea for £60m, who's to say that he won't be sold on for £100m in a few years - I think that's a very real possibility - he has at least as much potential as Caceido. It would be sensible business for saints to want a sell on from any profit. Sure, it won't help us now, but I suspect that when/if Lavia gets sold for £120m, that many of us will be bemoaning the club if they didn't agree a sell on clause. The above said, if the choice for us was an extra £5m now or a sell on, it'd be the cash now. A bird in the hand etc.
  25. Delightful 🙂
