That goal (both in fact) came from the midfielder not being tracked. You're not persuading me that Bednarek caused that goal, or the second. He may be a twat, but he was our best defender by a mile on Tuesday.
-
I think the media obsession is because a new club is challenging the established big boys. That'd be a good thing if it wasn't being done with dirty Saudi cash.
-
Absolutely. The first goal was mostly on Armstrong for letting the man go, and Bazunu should have done better. Nothing to do with Bednarek. I agree with you on the second.

I've address CB (Salisu and Lyanco). Edozie and Alcaraz have both been played on their positions. Diallo has been played in position. He might not be good there, but he's not been out of position. I think Jones is woeful, but CB's aside (but with good reason imo - Newcastle/Dan Burn are exhibit A), he's played players where they should be, and found a way to play JWP in his best position.
-
No arguing with that one 🤣

Who's being played out of position? If you mean KWP, he is just as happy and just as good at left back. We need height in a back 4 to have any chance at defending set pieces. It's obvious why we play a CB at full back if we have an short full back on the other side. You've only got to watch Newcastle to see how it can work. 2 decent CB's, Tripper on the right side, and to give more defensive height, and Burn (a CB) at LB to give height. Man City often do it with Stones, Ake or Akanji. If you mean JWP, he's been played on arguably his best position after being played out of position is a DM for ages. Who else do you mean?
-
Yes we are from an attacking sense on one side, but we lack height on crosses and dead balls at each end.
-
Good post. My only comment is KWP. Personally I don't think he's weaker at LB than RB. I think we're exposed with 2 short full backs, so I can understand why he only wants 1 on the pitch with a CB covering a full back position. That's preferable to 2 short wing backs and 3 CB's imo.

That was a shocker. Bednarek did brilliantly though. -

Bollox to history. I'm watching this game and am interested in how players are playing tonight. Bednarek has been ok tonight. -

Yep. He looked lost first half, but no worse than Lyanco and Salisu who are seasoned at this level. Been pretty good this half imo. -

He hasn't been tonight. He's been far better than Salisu. Judge the performance, not the man. -

He was our best CB first half. -

What formation is this now. Looks almost 424 -
My thoughts. He can't get a tune out of Orsic. Alcaraz is anonymous in this formation. He drops DCC for Bednarek. Giving this bloke half decent players is like giving a McDonald's cook proper ingredients to have a play around and expecting a Michelin star quality meal.

This is pub football from us. I can't think when I last saw a PL team so outclassed.

As shite as we are, they're a very good team. Pace, size and power all over the park. -

A scratch team, and change of formation, in the semi final. Absolutely disgraceful. Salisu and Bednarek look like they've never met each other, let alone played or trained together
