I didn't hear it, but it seems that Leeds fans and watchers either like or loathe the guy. I guess his non possession, chase the ball style won't appeal to everyone, and like us under Ralph, it'll lead to us having our pockets picked often. Personally, I'd rather a risky ish brand of football than an anonymous/archaic brand. On the last bit, the sad thing is that we could all see it and I can't understand why they that let it drag on. Really weak management from SR that is likely to cost us.

At the end of the day, any manager who is available will have failed in his last job, hence his availability. Any option will divide opinion. If you ask any Villa fan, they'll tell you that they were going down under Gerrard who was terrible for them. I wouldn't quite describe him as a Jones with a bit more charisma, but he ain't far off that. His feat of winning in Scotland doesn't impress at all. It's a terrible league (we've just upgraded Olaigbe's loan from Scotland Prem to English league 2) so success up there isn't a credible benchmark. Marsch walked into hell's kitchen when he joined Leeds. Bielsa was god like. Sure, Rapinha was amazing for them, but Marsch kept that team up, and has won games at this level. If our choice is Marsch, Gerrard, Lampard or Rooney, it'd be Marsch all day long. That said, I think they'd all command the dressing room and a shot in the arm on the pitch. Lampard has done nothing to even warrant a mention - he was a great player but he won't be playing for us, and he's not shown himself to be a decent manager. Rooney is the interesting. I thought he did well at Derby in tough circumstances, but since then he's a nightmare at DC united - 2 wins in 14 is shocking. No idea what that's about, but it ain't great. Marsch for me. Best of a meh lot, but we've got to be realistic on our options.

He's a coach who's coached a team who look badly coached. The fact that nobody can justify why they want him to get the job says it all.
-
Apologies...so the cluster fuck that has been this season...an ever present on both managers watch. The point remains - what has he done to persuade anyone that he's the answer for the remainder of this season?
-
I don't see Marsch as a failure. I'd prefer him to Selles who is an ever present in what's been the cluster fuck if the last 18 months or so. He should be out of the door and I'm struggling to understand why people think he'll offer anything that's neat good enough...seems to be based on hope. Marsch has at least managed at this level.

Not sure where I said we'd only get bad managers mate, you made that up. What we won't get are people who at the start of the season who saw us a forward career step. Who would come here as a caretaker? Really easy to say something like that, but who would you realistically suggest?
-
So who do you expect us to get given where we are, and where we're heading? If this were the summer and we were safe we've have all sorts of options. That's not the case though, and people need to accept the reality of our situation and how we attractive we're not to decent managers right now.

it's reasonable to assume that he won't be lying in a hotel in Southampton once Chelsea eventually sack him. If he's got any sense he'll be lying on a sunbed in the Caribbean for about 6 months with a Pina Colada in his hand until he gets a call from West Ham to move across London.

Blimey, that's night and day from Jones. This bloke is an actual likeable human being.
-
Jones had plans A - E each game, and that was just for our defensive shape. They were all shit though. If we can get a manager with a decent plan A for the rest of this season, that'd be a start.
-
Ha!! Very good... although either would probably do better than Jones, I'm not convinced that Tessem's management spell for Totton in 2008, and Benali's under 12 and Romsey Town experience is quite what we need.

That must be absolute bollox.

Who would want relegation from the premier league on their CV? Who would want relegation AND a failure to gain promotion back the premier league on their CV. Work ain't just about the money - it's also about career prospects, achieving something, not failing, not getting shit from the fans and media, etc. I can fully understand why people would swerve us.

Yes. Mexico for PL (Spanish commentary though) and Australia for FA cup. £35 up front for 12 months. We had it anyway as there's some good programmes on there (Yellowstone, Tulsa King etc) so having the football is there is a nice bonus.

Surely inaccurate, unverified figures provided by Ukraine are as reliable as inaccurate, unverified figures provided by Russia? We're fed spin, ditto the Russian people. The truth will be somewhere in between.
-
He seems a bit of a maverick for sure. Seems wedded to a back 3 though. We've been there once or twice and it doesn't go well.
-
Can we please stop with this judging based primarily on stats nonsense. How Marsch did at Leeds with the players available to him there is not comparable to how Ralph did here with the players at his disposal. They also managed 3 years apart at Leipzig. Stop comparing apples with bananas.
-
He's never managed I don't think, purely a coach?
-
I've been quite impressed with him tbh. Bigger, faster and just a lot better than I expected. I'd prefer him at RB than Lyanco or AMN. If anything, this lad is the only positive to have come from Jones tenure here.

Nuno feels like a good fit for us. He did really well at Wolves, and is a big enough name to command respect and restore some credibility to the club.
